Mark,
This morning at Peachtree Presbyterian, we celebrated your life in one of the most wonderful services I have ever attended. All of your fellow Red Dog Unit officers were there too, along with other APD officers and friends. No one could have fathomed all the wonderful things that have come from such a tragic event. You parents and family were beaming with pride. It was a CELEBRATION of your life and all the wonderful things that continue in your name.
God bless.

It is amazing the impact that Good People have on others. I miss the opportunities to bond with a Good Man, such as yourself, as we have in the past. Your contributions to our society, in every way, are appreciated. I admire your courage and pray that God has given us more men like you to make this world a great place.

I MISS YOU MARK... I WAS THINKING ABOUT ALL THE TIMES IN THE ACADEMY YOU HELP ME GET THROUGH. ALL THOSE MILES RUN WHERE YOU RAN WITH BESIDE ME TO KEEP ME MOVING WITH THE CLASS. YOU AND ME DID TRAINING BOXING THE GYM FOR AND YOU HIT ME SO HARD THAT YOU ALMOST KNOCK ME OUT BUT WE FOUGHT SO HARD THAT THE SGT MADE US STOP AND SHAKE HAND CUS THEY THOUGHT WE WAS MAD AT EACH OTHER .I REMEMBER AT HELL WEEK WITH SWAT, THEY GAVE YOU THE NAME "ALL DAY" BECAUSE WHEN THEY ASKED HOW MANY PULL-UP YOU CAN DO.. THAT WHATS YOU SAID TO THEM. MAN I MISS YOU..YOU USE TO STOP BY MY EXTRA JOB IN ZONE 5 AND WE JUST TALK ABOUT OUR KIDS. YOU WANT TO GO TO DISNEYLAND AND I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET BACK WITH YOU WITH PRICES. DAM I WISH WILL COULD HAD TAKING THAT TRIP WITH YOU AND OUR FAMILY. I SHOULD HAVE BEING AT WORK THAT DAY WITH MY TEAM...RIDING THAT SAME AREA...SAME BEAT. THAT WAS OUR AREA OF FOCUS ALSO FOR THAT WEEK.I'M SO SORRY CROSS...I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. IT'S NOT A DAY I DON'T THINK ABOUT YOU..I MISS YOU MY FRIEND AND WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART.

REST IN PEACE BROTHER. YOUR MEMORY LIVES ON.

INV HAROLD HUTCHISON (RETIRED)
HUNTSVILLE ALABAMA POLICE DEPT

April 23, 2009

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 4th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. My son was shot in California at almost the same moment you were shot in Atlanta with the three hours time difference taken into consideration, thus I have always felt you both began your new journey together.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Mark,

We love and miss you. Not a day goes by that we don't think of you. We will continue to honor your memory in a way that would make you proud. You are no longer with us physically and there is a hole in our hearts, but you will forever be with us in memory and in spirit, and you are never far from our thoughts.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave a post remembering our beloved son Mark.

While our hearts still ache and not a day goes by that we don't miss Mark, we take comfort in knowing that Mark's death as tragic as it was has also brought about so much good.

As Romans 8:28 says We know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.
