Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Mark Anthony Cross

It was over 15 years ago when we started the academy together. Then we were transferred to Red Dog and went to SWAT school. I can't believe that it has been 10 years! Miss you bro!

Hopefully your death will not be in vain. We can learn from your death by ending prohibition of drugs, which leads to crime and violence in our society. If drugs were legally available like cigarettes and tobacco (which are, as a matter of fact, the two biggest killers of all drugs, both legal and illegal, look it up) and not criminalized, then there would be no "drug houses" for officers to monitor.

Consenting adults who are in the illegal drug trade would have legitimate businesses, and disputes could be settled legally, so the violence associated with drugs would disappear.

Prohibition not only leads us to lock up fellow Americans for things they shouldn't be locked up for, it causes deaths like this one. This is hard to accept because it is so ingrained in our heads that "drugs are bad" but the ones that are the worst are already legal.

Let not this man's death be in vain. Let's learn something from it.

I was blessed to be in the waiting room when you were born. So I got a chance to see you right after delivery. To know you're no longer here. YES! It's painful, to see you left a beautiful wife and children, and those many relatives and friends who Loved You Dearly. But! Wait another emotions rush in and I remember your PRANKS and Jokes, and I find myself laughing and tears at the same time. Thank You Mark for your Service for this United States Of America. I miss you so much. I think about you all the time. I will NEVER understnd why you were taken from us. It hurts so bad. Gem is doing a great job with the kids, they always look so happy, always doing something fun but we miss seeing them. Maybe some day soon we will see them again. I miss your smile and your laugh. They were the best. I HATE that your gone. I still talk to you but would love to here you talk back. Losing you has been the hardest one to lose. Harder then losing your grandma and grandpa.
