Ralph:

Chris and I just got home from spending the day with your family. We will help them with anything that we can. They are strong people and have a lot of support from family, friends and fellow officers. The next few days will be extremely tough, but everyone will get through the emotional days.

You are a great father, police officer and friend. I remember a few years ago when Roy and I were teasing you at work before the Fair St. Louis Detail at Patrol Support. You kept a big smile on your face and we could tell that you loved your job.

Ralph, find Nick and he will help you get settled in heaven.

Please keep a close watch on your family for they will need your guidance and support.

It is with great sadness, the State of Missouri loses another hero. All of these officers are doing what they love, and pay the ultimate price protecting and serving.

May we keep Ralph's family, new child, and fellow troopers in our prayers.

Ralph was on heck of a guy, and will forever be in the thoughts of his friends, family, and co-workers. Although I only met him a few times, I will never forget the ear-to-ear smile that brought smiles to everyone he touched.

May god bless those of us who protect.

Ralph-
My family's heart broke this morning when we heard the news. I had hoped that after this had to happen to Nick that no other family would have to go through this. I am so glad that we were able to see you at the last Owensville Fair.
I am sure Nick was there to meet you this morning. Please send your family signs to let them know that you are with them. The signs mean alot. We will be there for your family with whatever they need.

Give Nick a big hug for me. I'll talk to you later.

Every day Policemen go to work, they serve their country and the people in more ways than recognized. By their mere presence, they protect and serve the citizens of every City and State and deter criminal activity.

Their call to duty lies deeper then what the public witnesses. Every day, every shift, and every hour, their lives are put at risk. Inside their hearts, they have Pride, Courage, Honor, and Loyalty. From issuing a citation to a traffic offender, to fighting the most violent criminals, they’re here to make the streets and neighborhoods safe.

Safe, so that Old Glory may fly proudly. Safe, so that the President and Congress can effectively govern America. Safe, so that the Soldiers may live in peace to protect our Country from foreign enemies. Safe, so that citizens may tour the Country, learn the history, and visit monumental sites that gave America freedom. Safe, so those families can peacefully live.

One day could be quite peaceful, while the next could be time to rock and roll. That is why they must never go against the brotherhood that is formed. City, State, or Federal, all Police, nationwide, has a common bond. A special Comradeship. They are their own family. One must never leave a brother behind, become a quitter, or worse yet, a coward. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.

When their shift is over, they hang up their gun belts, take off their badges, and return home to their families. But, their service never ends.

Rest in peace my brother we will take the watch from here.
