To the wife and daughters of Sgt. Figgins,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I know the hurt and shock your family is going through right now. My dad was killed in the line of duty while assisting a disabled motorist almost 2 1/2 years ago; He left behind 2 daughters as well. I know that sometimes it doesn't seem like you can breathe through the pain or like you just can't wake from this horrible nightmare, but time does slowly begin to heal the hurt. The memories that me, my sister and my mom shared with him keep me going, and I hope that your memories of your dad keep you going and smiling as well. It helps to keep his love close.

If you ever feel like talking, please e-mail me. I don't know you, but I DO know what it's like to loose a dad this way. Again, I'm really sorry for your loss. I hope that God gives you strength and comforts you with His love in this difficult time ahead.

Sincerely,
Valarie Bell Wright

To the family, friends and co-workers of Sgt Figgins: our department went through this same tragedy less than a year ago. I know at this time no words can ease the intolerable pain you are feeling, but all I can say is that Sgt Figgins' death was not in vain-his death was honorable, and like many police officers, he passed in his uniform, doing a job that was the only one he could imagine ever holding. Sgt Figgins is on a safer beat now, walking among the angels God has called to His patrol. He will joined by many fine men and women who are heroes to us all. Rest in peace Sgt Figgins. You and your family at St Charles PD are in our prayers.
