Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

As I am writing this,I sit in darkness and think about the past 4 years and it feels like 4 days. I pray you are at peace and I pray that some day I may find closure and be at peace as well. There is so much I want to say and I can't so I live in sadness. Continue to watch over us and we miss our brother and our friend.

Steven,

It is four years today April 8th,2009 that you went to Heaven. Steven having you as a son and brother was the greatest gift of all. Living without you each and every day hurts so much. You were taken away from us so tragically and we never had the chance to say good bye. We did not have the chance to tell you one more time how much we love you and what you mean to us. If we could hold you onemore time, we would never let you go. We miss your laugh and your beautiful smile. You had a light in you that will shine forever. You left a lasting impression on everyone you met. You were our son and brother, our pride and joy. Our family chain is broken and our lives have been changed forever. It's coming upon four years since we lost you. I can't believe it's been that long. There are so many times we've said we wish we could share this moment with Steve. It's those times we have to remind ourselves that you are still sharing moments with us just in a different way. That's what gets us through. We miss you so very much every day. I just wanted to leave a note before we leave for vacation, we will be gone on the 8th but we will be thinking of you and your family and praying for them as they cope with that sad day. We love you Steve and we cherish every moment we had with you and thank you for leaving us with so many happy and fun memories.

Hi Steve, I just wanted tell you that you are always on my mind. I'm glad I was able to take a ride to see you the other day. It felt good to spend some time at your grave site. Uncle Steve,

Today is your birthday, another day to celebrate all of who you are, except I cannot be with you to share this joy. Even though this isn't the first birthday without you it doesn't get any easier. As I sit here there is a picture in front of me of the two of us on my 12th birthday. Everytime there is birthday in the Zourkas family it is the same tradition and people but different cake. I love that same tradition and coming together of familiar faces. I'm sad we cannot do that on this day. I have many wonderful memories of you so I will never forget. Were getting ready to go on vacation tomorrow, something we havent done as a family in a long time. Please watch over us.
