After my father passed away I was going through his paperwork. I came across this article that my dad had printed out. I find it very interesting to have found this article on here. And I’m happy to be a descendent to these wonderful men who gave their life to serve many citizens.

Thank You for your service you gave the citizens of Bowie County. I'm so proud to have followed in your foot steps in Law Enforcement. I'm currently with the Tarrant County
Sheriff's Dept. in Fort Worth, Texas. I, started my Law Enforcement career in 1973 with the Texarkana Police Dept. and then with the Bowie County Sheriff Dept. . No one in our family had known about you until I started and then my Dad, David Morgn told me that my Great GrandFather was killed in the line of duty. Upon on checking we could not find anything until Officer Down Memorial we were looking at an friend of ours. Oh, Granddad you had 2 grandsons, and 1 great grandson and 2 great grand duaghters. And then myself David S. Morgan Jr. as you know Grandmother Christine and Grandfather Sam Morgan skipped a generation and my dad and mom named me after you your great great grandson as proud to carry on the Morgan name and also be a member of our local Sheriff's Dept. and have served the Citizens of Bowie County,Texas.
