I was in the 02 class at the academy that next year after your death. We heard about your death by other officers and were saddened. Nobody wanted to talk about it much; but, it etched in my mind always. It made us appreciate life. It made us become more professional about our job because of you. Your life should always be remembered. My you gain understanding of this life while with the divinities and the Creator in the heavens. May you speak to other women to be strong and courageous in their endeavors to be law women. Thank you for your service.

Teresia I met you just before your last watch I was a medic with Haynes Ambulance in Union Springs and I got a call to go to the prison it was something minor with an inmate you were still a cadet and your sergeant let you ride in the ambulance I'll never forget you trying to get in and out with that riot baton on and you were so tiny. I told you about me starting the academy in a few weeks and so were you the other CO's were picking about you not having a shiny badge like theres I just looked and said in a few weeks she will have a badge that puts all of ours to shame..... and then 3 weeks later as we were getting ready to go to the academy you State Corrections and me Montgomery Police I heard of your death and didnt believe it was you until they showed your face I cried like a baby. I also recall you had so much energy and wanted that job so bad I will never forget your enthusiasm and may you rest in peace with angels cause you have that shiny New Badge now and its Gold. Do your best to keep us safe and we love you Corrections Officer Teresia Wheeler
