Chief Garland and his family
Thank you for your years of service to the City of Burkburnett Texas. I lived in Burkburnett as a young boy and still have many relatives who live in and around Burk. One of my Uncle's Homer Provence was also a former Burkburnett Chief of Police. I went into Law Enforcement and after 30 years retired as a Commander with Santa Ana Calif Police
Department Department in Southern Calif. My early life in Burk gave me the desire and interest to go into Law Enforcement. Thank you to all the past, current and future Officers in Burkburnett Police Department.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 77th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace
