G-d Bless.May you sleep safe with Our Lord and may He bless your loved ones.

March 11, 2007

My name is Anthony Mutz and I am riding in this years 10th Annual Police Unity Tour. I am riding for our Fallen Brother Officer, Sgt. Hoyt Teasley. I would like to extend my warmest sympathy to his family and friends as I embark in the journey from Florham Park, NJ to Washington, DC in his memory. It will be an Honor to ride for Sgt. Teasley and the other Fallen Officers the Tour represents. We will be leaving on May 9, 2006 and over four days reach the Memorial. Once again, my heart goes out to his family and friends for their loved one who made the ultimate sacrifice.

On this the first anniversary of your tragic death, please know that your memory is honored and revered today.

My heart goes out to your family. You’re in our thoughts and our prayers.
I hope that we are able to meet each other in D.C.

Sgt. Teasley, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

TO THE TEASLEY FAMILY, FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS:
HE WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
MS. TEASLEY, I WAS WATCHING CNN AND SAW YOU WHEN YOU GAVE THE INTERVIEW. YOUR WORDS ARE SO TRUE "I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IT HAPPENED". IT IS LIKE A BAD DREAM THAT YOU CAN'T WAKE UP FROM. WE ALL HAVE THOSE FEELINGS. WE HOPE AND PRAY THAT IT NEVER HAPPENS TO OUR LOVED ONE, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE THAT DOES NOT RESPECT OUR OFFCIERS AND THE JOBS THEY ARE DOING TO PROTECT THEIR COMMUNITY.
PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE THOUGHT OF AT THIS TIME.
GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU IN HIS CARE.

Upon the approach of the one year mark of your heroic sacrifice, I just want your family to know that I think of them and pray for them often. As a 2005 Georgia Survivor, I feel a kinship to them even though I have only seen your wife once. I know how hard this is on them, especially since it is still talked about on the news daily. I cannot imagine having that reminder. I know that you are looking out for them. I pray that God continues to comfort them.

Teasley & Family,

My heart goes out to your family. Seeing you in the county, I know they have lost a great joy and the county has also. Not only did they lose one angel but they lose 4. The county will never ever be the same. I pray that the lord has helped your wife and kids cope with their lost. I will never forget you or that tragic day at the county. Being a former employee myself, the days will never be the same.

To the family and friends of Sgt. Hoyt Teasley and fellow officers on the Fulton County Sheriff's Department:

On behalf of our entire famiy, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered with the brutal murder of Sgt. Teasley. I was shocked and saddened when I heard about the courthouse incident that took Sgt. Teasley's life. His valor and bravery will never be forgotten.

In reading the reflections about him, it is obvious he was a dedicated officer who was admired and loved by many. His dedication to his family and job will be forever remembered.

My family grieves with you and for you.
In April, we lost our beloved Larry Lasater of the Pittsburg Police Department when he was fatally shot during a foot pursuit of two bank robbers. His first child was born 2 1/2 months after his death. Knowing that all these children have to grow up without their fathers is so heartbreaking.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Hoyt gave to his community and the citizens of Georgia, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 11, 2005.

"Blessed are the peacmakers, for they will be called the children of god"

To Deputy Teasley, no one man can measure the sacrafice of ones life, but can only hope to learn from such disgusting acts, and perhaps break the chain of violence, and make a little peace. Though you have died, in the pursuit of those who threaten all that is good and pure, no one will ever forget what you did, and what officers all across America do everyday. You died doing your job, though your death was at the hands of a coward, you are now in the hands of god.

To Deputy Teasley's family, words cannot express the sorrow or deep distain for the coward that killed Hoyt. All I can say is that only time can replace the awful time that you must be enduring now. I realize that nothing I or anyone else can say will bring Hoyt back. God speed and remember, that pain is temporary, but pride is forever.

"Sgt. Hoyt Teasley, all squads,
10-7, 10-42 rest in peace Hoyt"
