Tom,

Thirty years ago today you were born, I remember it like it was yesterday. You made us very proud parents that day and continued to do so your whole life. We miss you so much.
In two days Adria the "apple of your eye" will be 4. She is very bright, beautiful, smart, and witty. She reminds so much of you. :)
I was outside with Adria last week and she gave me a stone she had found. Mom suggested that we bring out and put it on your headstone, which is what we did. A gift to you from from your little "Cheek" as you sometimes called her.

We love n miss you so much

Tom -

We're getting ready to leave for Washington this morning - it's so hard to believe that it's been 14 months since you were taken from us. We loved you and were so proud of who you were in life - now the nation will join us in honoring you. Know that we love you and miss you as much today as we did last March when we started on this journey. Keep watching over all of us, especially your little princess.

Love always,
Mom Miller

Such a hard day for your family today.Lord, please wrap Your arms around them really tight.

We are thinking of you today and your tremendous sacrifice in the line of duty that you performed daily. We also lost our beautiful, precious son to an accident. Matthew loved police work and would have done nothing else so we honor him and all his fellow brothers and sisters for the 24 hour job that they do with honor and dignity.

We know the pain and loss that will not be filled by anyone or anything until we are all reunited. Until then
we hold on to the love and memories they filled our lives with.

With love and respect,

A street in your name and
a plaque hanging in city hall,
Later this year your name will
be put on the wall,
In Washington D.C., for all the world
to see.

You weren't downed by a bullet or even
a knife, but a bus was
The weapon that took your life.

It's been a year since you passed away,
yet the anger and pain still remains.
I can still remember the day, as if
it were yesterday.

The call came minutes after the accident
My mind could not process the
Severity of the incident.

Our mentality is often conceited,
how could your life have been defeated
Not by chasing an armed suspect or
coming between a violent domestic,
But rather directing traffic on
Chelsea and Atlantic.

An unfortunate accident, I have heard
some say.
To be taken from this world in such
a way.

In death, just as in life, you upheld
your oath.
Continuing to save lives by donating
your organs, so others could survive.

The weather was miserable
the day you were laid to rest.
Officers came from near and far
to pay their respect.

A funeral of honor is what the public
would see.
Looking on from under their umbrellas
as they hurried on by,
Making their way into the church
to keep warm and dry.

Rows of Officers standing at attention
in the freezing rain.
As they brought you into the church
our hearts were filled with pain.

The cold and rain was a small price
to pay,
To give you the respect and honor you
deserved for the sacrifice you made.

Etched in our minds,
each one of us has a special memory
We hold dear.
Each one of them different,
But the theme is all the same.

Rest in peace my friend,
you will not be forgotten.

Till we meet again on the otherside,
Goodbye.

I just wanted to say that on the one year anniversary of the day you left this earth, you will never be forgotten Tom. You were such a great husband to Jen and an awesome father to Adria. I know that you are watching them from heaven and are proud of how strong they both are. You are a true hero. Thank you for your service. My prayers are with your family on this difficult day.

Tom,
A year has passed and it seems like yesterday. This past year we have cried, we have grieved, we have smiled and we have laughed. We all go through these emotions every day. In time we know these feelings will dull, but they will never go away. Please continue to keep watch over Jen and Adria. We love you, we miss you. You will forever be in our hearts.
