Your heroism and service is honored today, the 92nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

On the upcoming anniversary of your death, we remember you and thank you Sir for your Service.

This writer is glad justice was quick and swift in your killer and the killer of another Texas Ranger.

SGT Timberlake,
My grandfather, PVT Charlie Burwell, was with you when you were shot. He spoke often of you and of that day. I would like to think he was there for you when you needed him and I hope I will do the same when my time comes to step up.

And when your final summons comes,
To make a last long trip,
Adorned with Lambskin Apron White
And gems of fellowship
The tiler at the Golden Gate,
With the square and rule and plumb
Will size up your pin, and say,
"Walk in- I see you've traveled some"
