Upon the markers of their graves
Our heroes etched in names we save
For all the life they gave with pride
To keep the peace within life's stride

To honor serve and do their best
To keep us safe through any quest
They gave up what was theirs to share
Their spirits shall be always near

No fear within the hearts and minds
To keep us safe within our times
The glory that is ours to see
Those special hearts of bravery

They have walked where no man dare
Their lives in danger with no care
For they have given all they could
For their courage we have stood

In awe of every one who gave
His life for others who they saved
So we will know their contribution
Their firm resolve and resolution

For those they left with hearts so broken
In every whispered word that's spoken
We bow our heads in confirmation
In every word life's revelation

Those who stand within their shoes
Will follow courage as they choose
And give to all the best they had
They carry on with spirits glad

We will know that they walked through
With colors bright and hearts so true
No Island stands alone they say
For heroes they are born this way

Protecting those with loyalty
A glimpse of so much royalty
Within the years of courage bound
These officers have earned their crown

Upon the earth we shall remember
The special goals and all their thunder
That proves a hero came our way
Who left their hearts on earth to stay.

Chuck,
I recall a Christmas Eve in 2003 when you rode with me on the Morning Watch. We were pretty busy and then a home invasion came out on the north side. I had only spent about three hours with you but I knew that you were who I wanted watching my back. We got the bad guys and I was thankful you were there. I will miss your genuine good nature and talking Georgia Football together. Your brothers and sisters in Blue will carry on but rest assured You and Your Family will always be in my prayers. Thank You so much for blessing me with your warm smile and your desire to be a friend. God Bless you and your daughters and your family.I miss you and love you BROTHER.

I lost another brother this week, Chuck was every bit a part of the HCPD family. I feel very honored to have been his sister, and that he was a true friend. Chuck had the ability to make me smile, even when I was having the worst day. I have a hole in my heart over this loss, but I think of Chuck and I smile. Chuck may we meet again someday.

Chuck, I already miss you. You always helped me through the rough times. I do not know how I am going to make it without you. I don't have anyone to call in the middle of the night anymore to encourage me through the night. Some nights I survived only because you told me it was going to be okay. You always protected from bad stuff. I miss you so much. I did not want to leave your side tonight. I love you.

Chuck, I will miss you very much. This did not realy hit home for me until last night when Sergeant Maddox and I pinned your badge on you for the last time. I can't realy describe what I felt looking at you, and remembering the Friday night BBQ's that you came to at my house. I will forever remember the day that we met when you followed me home from H.Q. just to introduce yourself. You were a true friend and a great 20. I remember the fun we had running around in 154, and how you kept my spirits up when I thought I would never make it to C.I.D. I wish I had a way to tell you this now, but you should know that the last time we talked, if you remember what it was about, it happened. I will forever believe that you played a part in it for me, and I thank you.
