Officer Bowden rest in peace. Missouri has already had a tough year. Less than one month ago we all were shocked by the loss of Bridgeton Police Officer Scott Armstrong. Know that you are in a better place now, and we will all keep your family and loved ones in our prayers. Tell Scott we all love him and miss him. Keep those of us that protect safe.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family. Our son was killed while on patrol and was 20 years old as a Military Police Officer for six months. We know all too well the pain and loss that you feel. God will give you the strength that you will need for every day. Remember John 14:27, we will keep you in our prayers.

"The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God, which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining, just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman. How should I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,

"No Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those who carry badges can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays and at time my talk was rough... And sometimes I've been violent, because the streets are awful tough.

But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep... Though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord it needn't be all that grand.
I never expected or had too much, but if you don't, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne where the saints had often trod, as the policeman waited quietly for the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman.
You've borne you burdens well.
Come walk a beat on heavens streets.
You've done your time in hell."

You've done your time. We will take over the watch now. Rest in Peace

OFFICER BOWDEN,
I NEVER REALIZED UNTIL VISITING THE SITE TODAY THAT YOU HAD BEEN FIGHTING FOR YOUR LIFE FOR THE LAST MONTH. WHAT A FIGHT. I BELIEVE THAT THE LORD ALLOWED YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO SAY THE THINGS THEY NEEDED TO BEFORE CALLING YOU HOME. I READ THIS SITE AND ABOUT ALL OF THOSE WHO PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE TO PROTECT REGULARY. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT YOU, LIKE MANY OTHERS HERE, WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BY ME. REST IN PEACE WARRIOR.

Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God...

~~~Eternally and Always~~~
I didn't get to say goodbye
You're gone without a reason why
I've loved you all of my life
and then you weren't there
I didn't get a chance to say
how much I cared
I can't even remember the tears
that I cried
All I really wanted was to tell you
Goodbye
When I last saw you I felt I wouldn't
see you again
There was a distance between us
that I couldn't explain
You wouldn't look
at me but I could see the tears
in your eyes
If you knew then
You should have told me
Then I could have said
Goodbye
So many words left unspoken
So many hearts left so broken
My love for you is forever
And that will never die
We'll be together always
Our souls are one with God
Eternally and Always
I'll never have to say
Goodbye
