Reflections for Sergeant Howard King Stevenson

My forever love,
sending you our love on your birthday month. Please know that you are always in our hearts and thoughts as we continue to live on this earth without your physical self. But I believe you are still very much with us everyday...thank you.

Looking forward to the day we are reunited in perfect love in Jesus. xoxoxo

My love, today is the 12 th anniversary of your death on Earth and your arrival to Heaven.

As time has gone by, I have learned to rely on our Lord and Savior Jesus' comfort and truth. The truth of His unfailing love, even in the mist of unbelievable pain, heartache, and suffering, and the comfort that only He can give, when asked ...and I continue to need.

I long for the day, that I too, am in the arms of Jesus! I trust in His word, that there where be no more tears, no more pain and no more suffering. Rev. 21:4

Until we are together in perfect love...I am always missing you and love you with all that I am, my Soulmate xoxoxo

Merry Christmas my forever love,

I am so grateful for the unfailing love of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus. The fact that He came down to Earth from his throne to save humankind from sin and evil, speaks to the purest of love that is in Him.

I don't ever want to be a nano-second without our Savior, Jesus.

As we celebrate this Christmas, I pray with all that is in me, for all who don't know His great love, who have not put their trust in the one and only Savior, Jesus, that today their hearts will feel Him and trust in Him...

Howard, I long for the day that I will be with you and all my heavenly loves. I know that day is coming soon, so until then, Pray that I do my best to show the love of Jesus Christ to those I come in contact with.

Love you my Heavenly Soulmate xoxoxo

Oh my love,

We are heartbroken once again...we lost yet another brave and selfless officer in our community. I believe you were there with other brave souls, who too, gave your lives in the line of duty, to meet Deputy Wallace at the gates of Heaven.

We are praying for all who know and love Deputy Wallace. I believe we serve a great and loving God, who will someday soon, put away evil and bring peace to us all.

Until then, we continue to pray for the brave officers that are still serving our communities. May they know our Lord is still in control...even when we walk through such terrible loss.

Love you my Soul Mate

Good Morning my forever love,
I had to stop and write to you this beautiful September morning...I feel this overwhelming sense of peace, love, and assurance that we will see you and all our heavenly loves very soon...

As I have drawn even nearer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus, these last few months, I feel a change in me. I have been asking Him to transform my heart, to look more like His. I believe and trust that He is working hard to do so...

This world is not our true home! I am grateful beyond words for that truth...I have set my eyes on our Heavenly eternal home...and on the one who willingly gave His own life so, that we could be saved from an eternal life without God and His blessings May we always give praise to our one and only, Lord and savior, Jesus Christ...

Please continue to keep me and our precious family and friends in your prayers as we continue to walk this earthly life...

I am sending all my love to you, my soulmate, and to all our Heavenly loves...

Until we are reunited in perfect love xoxoxo

Well it is another August summer day and thoughts of you flood my mind and heart. I remember all the summer adventures we took as a family. You were such an amazing leader: a true gift from our Lord and Savior, Jesus!!!

Knowing you are safe in His ( Jesus') perfect love, helps me to continue on with the great hope of seeing you again in our eternal home, Heaven.

Thank you for loving me with unconditional love. I am very blessed to still feel your loving spirit with me each day.

Until we are reunited my Soul mate...love and miss you

A Hero In The Night
Next time a cop stops you because you are driving too fast,
Remember he saved you from that day being your last.
When you think he's picking on someone,
Why not think of what they could have done?
Next time you call him a name,
Would he have called you the same?
How would you feel to see a child beaten black and blue?
And knowing there is not much you can really do.
You can arrest them and hope they stay in jail,
But, too many times it doesn't work that well.
To see the face of someone right before they die,
When he can't but all he wants to do is cry.
To break up a fight, knowing later it will be worse,
And from his help, all that came was him being cursed.
To know that people don't respect what he chose to do,
But day after day, he's out there to protect people like you.
To see drugs sold to a child younger than his own,
Makes his heart ache and long for his home.
The job has no glamour, doesn't even pay well,
He does it because he cares for more than himself.
He cares for you and he cares for me,
He's out there hoping we will all see.
He took a path not many would take,
And he chose it for our sake.
He's a remarkable soul, a Hero in the Night,
When all is well, he's not in sight.
But, if you ever need him, he'll be right there,
Not just because he's a cop but because he cares.

WHAT IS A COP?

Cops are human (believe it or not) just like the rest of us. They come in both sexes but mostly male. They also come in various sizes. This sometimes depends on whether you are looking for one or trying to hide something. However, they are mostly big.

Cops are found everywhere-on land, on the sea, in the air, on horses, in cars, sometimes in your hair. In spite of the fact that "you can't find one when you want one", they are usually there when it counts most. The best way to get one is to pick up the phone.

Cops deliver lectures, babies, and bad news. They are required to have the wisdom of Solomon, the disposition of a lamb and muscles of steel and are often accused of having a heart to match. He's the one who rings the door-bell, swallows hard and announces the passing of a loved one; then spends the rest of the day wondering why he ever took such a "crummy" job.

On TV, a cop is an oaf who couldn't find a bull fiddle in a telephone booth. In real life he's expected to find a little blonde boy " about so high" in a crowd of a half million people. In fiction, he gets help from private eyes, reporters, and who-dun-it fans." In real life, mostly all he gets from the public is "I didn't see nuttin'."

When he serves a summons, he's a monster. If he lets you go, he's a doll. To little kids, he's either a friend or a bogeyman, depending on how the parents feel about it. He works "around the clock", split shifts, Sundays and holidays, and it always kills him when a joker says. "Hey tomorrow is Election Day, I'm off, let's go fishing" (that's the day he works 20 hours).

A cop is like the little girl, who, when she was good, was very, very good, but, when she was bad, was horrid. When a cop is good, "he's getting paid for it." When he makes a mistake, "he's a grafter, and that goes for the rest of them too." When he shoots a stick-up man he's a hero, except when the stick-up man is "only a kid, anybody coulda seen that."

Lots of them have homes, some of them covered with ivy, but most of them covered with mortgages. If he drives a big car, he's a chiseler; a little car, "who's he kidding?" His credit is good; this is very helpful, because his salary isn't. Cops raise lots of kids; most of them belong to other people.

A cop sees more misery, bloodshed, trouble, and sunrises than the average person. Like the postman, cops must also be out in all kinds of weather. His uniform changes with the climate, but his outlook on life remains about the same: mostly a blank, but hoping for a better world.

Cops like days off, vacations, and coffee. They don't like auto horns, family fights, and anonymous letter writers. They have unions, but they can't strike. They must be impartial, courteous, and always remember the slogan "At your service." This is sometimes hard, especially when a character reminds him, "I'm a taxpayer, I pay your salary."

Cops get medals for saving lives, stopping runaway horses, and shooting it out with the bandits ( once in a while his widow gets the medal). But sometimes, the most rewarding moment comes when, after some small kindness to an older person, he feels the warm hand clasp, looks into grateful eyes and hears, " Thank you and God bless you, son."

Good Morning My forever Love,

Today I woke with a song in my heart because we have been given the hope of eternal life in Heaven. Knowing we will be together soon brings unimaginable joy to my soul.

This world has gone crazy yet we have the hope in Jesus that He over came the world. John 16:33

As I continue on without your earthly presence, I choose to keep my heart set on our Lord, who is to return soon and make all things right and new.

I am praying for the same comfort for ALL we love and for those who have lost their brave and selfless loved ones.

I miss you and long for the day we are reunited in perfect love, that is in Jesus.

Hi Howie

Its Hard to believe its been 11 years since you went home to be with Jesus. Kathy and the kids miss you terribly as does the rest of the family. You would certainly be proud of your family. Your wife is an amazing woman/sister. Bryce and Mikaela are wonderful loving adults. I feel blessed to me part of their lives. Thank you again for your sacrifice. Until we see each other again, tell Mom I love her and tell Jesus thank you everything. He has looked out for Kathy and the kids so very well in your absence. I love you!

Hey Howie, kalani again.
It's been a while since I've visited this site. I always seem to cry when reading all the lovely reflections.
As I'm sure you know, my dad was promoted to Sergeant today, something he's wanted for a while. I know that he still remembers all the things you've told him and still tries to make your proud of him. I'm sure you and Bob were standing there as it was happening. Clapping, cheering, and I'm sure dancing.
We miss you a lot Howie. Everyone at the PD does. I promise I'll come visit you soon (:
