In The Valleys We Grow

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
It's then we have to remember
That it's in the valleys we grow.

If we always stayed on the mountain top
And never experienced pain,
We would never appreciate God's love
And would be living in vain.

We have so much to learn
And our growth is very slow,
Sometimes we need the mountain tops,
But it's in the valleys we grow.

We do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

The little valleys are nothing
When we picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan's loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share Your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank You for the valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
The mountain tops are glorious
But it's in the valleys I grow!

Have a blessed day!

REMEMBER...
The shortest distance between a problem and a solution
is the distance between your knees and the floor.
The one who kneels to the Lord,
can stand up to anything.

Thank You for all that you gave us, that is what is helping us to continue on. We Love you always and forever...just know that we are one day closer to seeing you again. Sergeant;

Just had to tell you I watched a special about you and what occurred that resulted in your death. My father was a police sergeant for 24 years that died as a result of line of duty. My dad was a cop about 2 hours south of you in California.

He always preached to other new sergeants that you get your officers home from duty no matter what, you get them home. You did just that. No matter the cost to you and your family you got your troops home.

Sergeant Stevenson gave his life so that two wounded Ceres Police Officers could get out of the line of fire. It will never be known how many officers or citizens may have been hurt if you hadn't did what you did. You gave your Officers time to escape, and time for other agencies and officers to arrive to take down this suspect. Every officer but you made it home.

You are a true hero and credit to the job.

Being 17 when I lost my father I understand the pain in losing a officer in the line of duty. I pray now, that your family understands how grateful we as citizens are to you for giving all you had for your officers and the citizens of Ceres.

Sergeant you were not only a excellent police officer, but a symbol of bravery. Enjoy heaven you deserve it!

Sergeant Stevenson is code 4 now
