Reflections for Deputy Sheriff William H. Singletary

William H. Singletary was my great grandfather. His only living daughter, Ina Isola Singletary Cates was my precious grandmother. He must have been a very loving father and husband. It took courage to be a lawman in such a wild and untamed territory. I am proud to be his great grand-daughter and am looking forward to the day I meet him.

William H. Singletary was my great grandfather and father of one of the dearest people to ever walk this planet, my Grandmother Ina Singletary-Cates. He must have been a great and honorable man to instill the wonderful values in his children that he did. I have been to his grave in the family cemetery on the rise in that field west of Sentinel where he rests alongside his beloved wife Sarah Emily and several of his children who died in infancy. As a historian and genealogist, William H. Singletary has deservedly acquired that position of hero in my research.
