Dear Lord, be with me on my beat this day and everyday. Grant that each weary block I walk, may ease a brothers way. Let me be kindly to the old and to the young, be strong butlet me triumph over those whose acts are cruel and wrong. And if according to your plan, I am to lose my life, please bless with your protecting hand my children and my husband.

My thougthts and prayers are with Officer Donovan's husband, children, family, friends and co-workers. I pray also for her partner, as I am sure her partner is going through a lot of pain too, as you all are. I know her children must be young bacause of her being such a young woman. My children are small too and it is difficult having to see them grow up without their daddy. But with God you can all make it. He will give you a peace that passes all understanding. My prayers are with Mr. Donovan as he begins to raise his children alone. God Bless You! Psalm 55:22

Amy, you truly are beautiful. It saddens me to see that you left your loving husband and four children behind. They will have a tough road ahead of them, but they will always have you in their memories and in their hearts. Unfortunately, I know all too well the pain your husband has. My husband was also killed in the line of duty this year, Feb 5, 2004, after just 5 months of marriage. Bert will definitely show you around and train you on your new patrol on the highways of heaven. I hope your husband is assured that Bert and many other heros will be taking care of you. Rest in peace Amy.

I read in the paper that P.O. Donovan left the financial world of investments to pursue a law enforcement career. I also read that she was the mother of four children. How strong the pull towards law enforcement and protecting others must have been to lure her away. God bless her, her relatives, and her law enforcement family. I hope they feel God's loving and comforting arms around them as they learn to live a different life without their mother, wife, and partner. Please know that her life and service was and is appreciated.

Amy, it was always nice to talk with you about the memories we each had of where we grew up, as a get-a-way from the stress of the academy, and a privelage to work on a team project with you. Your energy and passion will be missed, but always know you will be remembered in our hearts and prayers.

To the family and friends of Amy, remember that we have silent supporters throughout the world who feel our loss deep within.

My prayers are with you. God Bless.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Today, November 2, 2004 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer Amy Donovan who died in the line of duty just two days ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer Donovan’s sacrifice will never be forgotten.

My deepest thoughts go out to your family, friends, and co-workers during this difficult time. Instant grave danger and/or death can confront any of us on this job at any moment. I cannot imagine the grief that your partner felt for the accident---he or she will be haunted by your death forever. I hope that officer perseveres and can move on after grieving over your death and the subsequent loss to your family. Although it was brief, your service is still appreciated. Thank you.
