Reflections for Police Officer Amy Lynn Donovan

I am always saddened to learn of a fellow officer who will not be coming home. My sincere condolences to the Donovan family and the Officers of the Austin Police Department. I am greatly saddened by your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. May God give you the strength and courage to get through this difficult time, and the years to come. Although our brotherhood has suffered a tremendous loss, we know that Amy is now safe in Gods arms guarding the gates of Heaven. God Bless you Amy, for all that you have been, and for all that you have meant, to the people whose lives you have touched...."

Amanda,Chris,Annie,terry, and chase,
Being a good friend of Amanda and Chris i knew how much she meant to her children. They looked up to her for support and for love. She was a great mother and will always be watching over you all. I was there at the funeral and it was the most moving thing that i have ever seen in my life. I cried for all of you knowing how much she will be missed and for knowing how much her family wanted her back in their lives. But God wanted her and now she will be there whenever she needs them. She loved her children and husband as much as they loved her. She will also miss them. Baby Chase knew his mommy loved him and will know forever that she still does love him. I'm so sorry for your loss and will always be thinking about you and your family.
Love, Samantha

A terrible tragedy has left a husband without a wife and children without a mother. The thin blue line is stretched a little thinner with the loss of Officer Donovan. The members of the International Association of Women Police salute you, Amy, for your dedication to duty and the valor with which you fought the good fight. Your children should grow up knowing that members of your law enforcement family are their family, too. You all are in our prayers. Godspeed, Amy.

In loving memory of Amy Donovan:
I just went to another site and
read the articles about Amy. She
was a very capable person and this
is surely a tragedy. I just hope that
her partner will be able to forgive
himself. He is only human and humans make mistakes. It's what
we do best. If he doesn't come to
grips with this, we will have not only lost one outstanding officer, but two.
We don't get to Heaven based on what we do, but by accepting the
payment of Jesus Christ dying on the
cross for our mistakes. God bless you on your journey to self forgiveness and may you be able to receive the forgiveness being extended to you. To Amy's family and co- workers: Our hearts go out to you. How blessed you were to have her in your lives for even this brief time. May God comfort you as you seek His healing. We all mourn your tremendous loss with you.

Amy,
You were a true friend to me. You were the person that I could go to with any problems, and you were there with an open heart and helping hands. I promised to protect you and I did the best that I could. I will never forget the good times that we had joking around and getting on each other for every little thing that would occur. I will try and live my life the way that I know you would want me to. Part of me has been taken, but you left me with a lot to keep forever. Thank you for all of the great memories. I will miss you very much.

To the entire Donovan family,
Amy will be missed by many, but I can't begin to imagine the loss that all of you are feeling. She always talked about all of you and loved you very much. I have not seen someone find so many places for pictures of you in one car than she did. All of you guided her nights and kept her strong during hard times. This is the time for her to guide us through the hard times. Find comfort in the fact that Amy will always be there to look upon us. Find strength in the fact that she did not leave us, just a short separation until we meet again at the gates of heaven.

Amy, we love you and miss you. Rest in Peace.

Although your career was short, your community is grateful for your service. I have great respect for Amy for leaving what was probably a lucrative career to follow her dream. To her partner, hold your head up and carry on, sir. I'm sure Amy would want no less.

To the Family of Off. Donovan, our hearts and prayers go out to each and every one of you and ask that God watches over you and gives you strength, as you now have an Angel watching over you and our prayers also go out to the co-workers and the entire Austin Police Dept during this hard time. God has another Angel in Blue watching over us and helping in protecting us as we continue to do what we love, as what Off. Donovan loved to do. My heart breaks along with the family of Officer Amy Donovan. I know the hurt you are feeling now and I know, too, of the extreme pride you must have in your daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend. My son Officer Darren Medlin's EOW was June 12, 2004. He was a DWI officer with Grapevine PD. I wish to express my deepest heartfelt condolences to the entire Donovan family and pray that you will feel God's presence in all the days ahead.

My Fallen Angel-
You were a mother and best friend, life will never be the same with out you. I promise baby Chase will grow to be the boy then man you would have wanted him to be. I will tell him every day how much his mommy loved him. I will tell him how wondeful of a person you were, how brave you were, and how beautiful you were; both inside and out. I know i will never fully understand why, there is no answer. God needed an Angel and he got one. I love you so much and will miss you everyday. I do not know if we will ever fully recover, but i find some peace knowing i will see you, hug you, kiss you again someday. I want to thank every one who tried to save my mother-and all the people who have prayed for my family. I love you and i miss you. God rest you soul.
