Rest in peace Deputy Dunn.

Uncle Tim, I’m running a 5K in your honor next weekend. As I came across your page to get your badge number, I am in awe over the love and support in your honor. Ella would have loved to meet her uncle Tim. She has quite the obsession with police officers as you know. We pass highway 70 and Brunswick every single day and talk about you in heaven. We love you.

I think about Deputy Dunn as I cross this intersection almost every day going to work and I see the memorials left on the side of the highway. Today is my birthday and he makes me appreciate the blessing I have to be protected and served by officers like Him.

Tim, I am thankful to have u as an example to follow. If i have a bad day I look at your page and instantly realize I am blessed to be alive so i have nothing to complain about. In life u know where u have been but never know where life is taking u. It's just sad that good people doing great things for the community have to die before their time. I feel that in life u should die for something or u live for nothing and u died with honor trying to help people. I just pray that if it's God's will for me to put on the same uniform u put on I will not let down the people of shelby county. Thank u Deputy Dunn for being my Motivation in hard times. I am blessed and honored to follow in your footsteps.

Although I never knew you, or had the opportunity to meet you, I know that you were a distinguished officer and a hero to the residents of Shelby County. That is apparent just in the words as your fellow officers describe the type of man and officer you were. I am proud to have my academy class dedicated to you sir. May God bless your family, and the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

Every time I drive past Hwy 70 and Brunswick I think of Tim. We were co-workers, partners and friends. I miss him and wonder what life would be like if God had not called him home. We carry on knowing Tim would want us to. He loved being a Deputy Sheriff and we loved having him with us on the streets. He is still with us in our hearts and memories. To his family, you are still a part of ours and we love you all.

I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for thoses who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight fot the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then i have no regrate.
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood,or the threat of tyranny.
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing.
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow.
But tears of joy.
For now,
I stand with God....
IN HONOR AND MEMORY OF TIMOTHY HOWARD DUNN

Tim, I am just as proud today as I was then to have been a fellow officer that not only worked closely with you every day but also a friend. It was a pleasure to have been a part of such a good persons life. We both will continue our efforts one day together as you have already began your new watch. It was with great pleasure for me to introduce you, your family and your story to the new recruits and other officers at the academy during their orientation night. I personaly conveyed to them the sacrifices made in life and death by you and countless other officers and how there was no higher honor than for you to be remembered in that way. You truely are their mentor and hero my friend. Rest well warrior you have fought your battles.
