This is another dark day for Southeast Texas. Dirk is the 4th LE we've lost in about 3 years and the second in about 6 weeks. Our prayers are with your family and co-workers. I worked with Dirk personally on the same night shift for over 2 years. Anyone who knew Dirk couldn't help but like him. He was a great friend, excellent officer and loved his job. God bless his family in illinois and brother in houston.
