Let me start by offering condolences to the Ross family. Your loss is felt by all. I was blessed to have met Lucy on several occasions. The first thing you notice is an aura that makes one feel at ease almost instantly. If you have ever seen Lucy smile you can say that you have seen someone smile with their soul. If we could smile with a fraction of the sincerity she did the world would be a better place.
To her sons I say this keep moving forward don't let go of your dreams. Every time the sun shines remember that she is with you. May GOD bless and keep you.

For Lucy:
I had the opportunity to meet you while attending the BCC LEO Academy. You stood out then, as you do now. Although only an aquaintance, a memory that will not be forgotten.

Frank, Shane, & Aaron,

We are truly devastated !!
Our hearts and prayers are with you at this time, and we pray you will turn to your faith in God and know that he had another mission for Lucy to fill.
Ours is not to question why, but to keep our faith strong, and our love of Lucy special.
Tammy and Will pulled out the many photos of him that Lucy made, especially the ones she made during the period that Will was in her care immediately after his birth. It seems only yesterday we visited with you and watched the shuttle launch. Lucy was so much her usual happy self and made our visit special.
Lucy will always be special in our hearts and lives, and the four of you will be in our prayers.

I saw Lucy two days before her death in a department store, she stood behind me in line. I should have turned to say hello but didn't. The next day I told my husband I saw her and he went on to comment what a great, kind, and genuine person Lucy was. The very next day she was taken from us. As the spouse of a BCSO deputy my heart goes out to the family and co-workers of Lucy Ross. Lucy - you will be missed but not forgotten.

I have never met a person more dedicated to their profession then Lucy. She didn't quit until the job was done to perfection. Lucy Ross held herself to a higher standard and it showed in everything that she touched.

Chief Ross, Shane, and Aaron I was heartbroken to hear of what happened. The moment that we heard Kelly and I began to pray for the three of you. Your mom leaves behind to many legacies to name. She was a wonderfull woman and a great friend. There are children from all over the South that were protected because of your mom's dedication to them. And families slept easier knowing that their loved one's killer or rapist was caught becuase of her hard work. She made a difference in the lives of all she came in contact with. Your mom will be missed, but her work will never be forgotten.

As a very young Deputy at the Osceola County Sheriff's Office I was always happy to see Lucy's smiling face. She always encouraged me and always told me "you have a long career in front of you." 10 years later and now a Sergeant, I will never forget her words, wisdom or talent. We should all be inspired by her work and dedication to the job. I will miss you.
