Went to Washington for the 4th :); while Jessica and I had a list of things to do and see(which included Carole King for me lol), #1 on the list was seeing Ella's 'deviled eggs' she had made for you when she was 3, (she has just turned 17!) and left at the wall by your name at the police memorial. As so many other amazing,unexpected 'gifts' that we have received from you and God over these past nearly 15 years, this time it was Dad seeing those eggs in the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Museum while he was there for Police Week!!!!! Unbelievable yet so NOT unbelievable. You just go on and on, loving us, and being with us. We are all together forever just as strong as ever.

I thank God for the amazing gift of you and your sisters; I thank God for how much He loves us, that He put us all together.

I've missed you. I know you are well and watching over us all. I spent most of your birthday thinking about you-- how is it possible that we are 40??? The lives we dreamed about two decades ago. God's plans for you were so much bigger than either one of us could have ever imagined. Mine didn't turn out quite as I expected either. Unanswered prayers, right? Still even after all these years I still hear your constant encouragement and support, no matter how mad you got with me you never let me give up, You remind me of who I am, and you show me every day that you are a hero.

Happy Birthday Beautiful Son. Here on earth you would be 40 today !?!? I thought of you all day yesterday, wondering what you would be doing today.....Oh yes, delivering Mother's Day flowers with us...….and with ETHAN!!! …. carrying on with your sisters.....giving me your wonderful hugs and telling me to "settle down" :); just an all around wonderful, stress filled typical Mother's Day weekend-- because no matter what, we would all be together. And we are. It will never be all it was, but thanks to my three wonderful 'babies' , and thanks to God always, for giving you all to me, it IS wonderful. All I ever wanted I have because of you all. Until I can actually touch your beautiful face again and tell you face to face, you know how much I love you.

Hi precious Son, I know you were with me on the BIG day :). Even though I couldn't see the words here I felt your arm around my shoulder keeping me "settled down". What an amazing group of friends we had working the showroom and getting all the deliveries out faster and earlier than I had even hoped for. Remember when you used to pull in all your off duty friends to help deliver! Thanks for making life so crazy, amazing, and wonderful. As I always try to remind myself , it's all those little things that add up to be the life we love. I have so many wonderful memories of you and your sisters and your friends. The Best, it's all the Best.

Wow, realizing I took this 911 call of your wreck 14 years ago blows my mind. Many Many radio transactions and phone calls that I'll never ever forget. This was one of the very worst nights of my life along with many other in the blue family along with your family. Your mother and father are so sweet and precious and it turns out that unknowingly I had worked side by side with your sister at Cherokee School. Matt, you are very missed and I still pray for your family often. This was a night I will never ever forget, me and Amanda were the only ones in dispatch and it totally seemed like a nightmare but our work and dedication didn't go unnoticed because the Chief (now Sheriff) honored us both with a plague. You truly are missed and were taken way too soon!!!

Met your father at the Wall on May 14 as he was tracing your name. You must have been quite an officer for him to want to follow in your footsteps and become an officer. i talked to josh today, i waited a day because i didn't have it in me to write yesterday. i'm working with juveniles now, pursuing my plan of working with troubled kids. wondering what you would think about tiny me trying to look up literally at kids and try to help them get better at life and better within themselves. i've learned so much in the last 3 or 4 years, i'm amazed at how different everything is now. i hope heaven is beautiful, i know it is bc you're there with not just grandpa this year. grandmas there too; i wish you knew how hard this is for me to not be able to go give her a gift for mother's day tomorrow. hug them for me!!! i can't believe it's been 14 years. i'm getting older and wishing i was a kid again. remember when you knocked my tooth out?? i found old taped conversations of me talking to grandma that mom had. we laughed until we cried, i didn't know my accent was as strong then as it is now. i miss you! i hope your birthday was great, and i love you always. see you on the other side, cousin

Happy Birthday My Precious, Precious, Son of My Life!!
39 years ago today (the Friday before Mother's Day :) you were born....tonight we all celebrated you as we ate supper together, told stories about you, displayed your picture on the restaurant table ( the sweet waitress thought we were waiting on you and offered to have the staff sing Happy Birthday to you....we laughed and declined, but after she left decided you would have gotten a kick out of being sung to.....and indeed, we were waiting for you, always, until we can all be together again. Dad saw a penny on the parking lot on the way in and leaned down to get it, but it was stuck in the asphalt and he couldn't dig it out. He hated to leave it, but then when we got in and got to our table there was one under one of the chairs lol, so I leaned down and picked it up off the floor hahaha, never leave a penny if at all possible!!! A sign straight from you; I gave it to Dad to take on his trip to Police Week tomorrow. I'm sure you will show him more while in D.C.

Ethan delivered at the shop today, and will again tomorrow. It was great, as were his stories lol. He was keeping one close to the vest but gave it up over supper and we had a good laugh. I can only picture you and him delivering together, it's a picture that brings a big smile to my face, and a little shudder at what all you could have gotten into!!

Your guys are riding on the Police Unity Tour again, just got a couple of pictures from them.....your name band on their wrists, and their birthday toast to you. I Love them for always doing that.

You know you are ALWAYS in the middle of everything we do. We love you, miss you, need you, and laugh with you.
