Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Todd Michael Fatta

I did not know Todd Fatta well. He was our districts liason to the Auto Theft Task Force and I spoke with him on the telephone many times. In speaking with Todd, he struck me as someone who would help me with anything I would have needed. I felt very comfotable contacting him any time and he never made me feel that I was wasting his time. Our agency will truly miss him. To his family and loved ones, I am sorry for your loss. I hope that some day you will be able to look back and take solace in the fact that Todd died for a noble cause and that he loved his chosen profession. Todd is truly a hero. God Bless You.

What a senseless tragedy! Our hearts go out to the family and coworkers of Detective Fatta. We still mourn the loss of our own brother, Deputy Brian Litz, earlier this year, so we know first-hand the shock and disbelief you are feeling now. Our prayers are with you all.

To my partner,

Todd, I know you are above me now watching my every move, and that gives me comfort. As we prepared for entry into this nightmare, we all clasped hands, and that bond will hold me forever. I want you to know I respect you for all you have done, all you did, and all you wanted to do. I promise I will watch over your family and your friends...and I will praise your grit and spirit until I join you. Your partner...Det Ben Anderson...BSO Strategic Investigations Divison-ATTF

Your sacrifice was the greatest for a so called "thankless job", yet we still show up for rollcall each and every day. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

I never knew you,
But we are brothers,
I never met you,
But we are brothers,
Our paths never crossed,
But we are brothers,
I have never patrolled in your town,
But I know we have been on duty together,
just in another town.
And we are brothers.
And as a brother,
I feel the pain,
I feel the hurt,
And I feel the sadness that only a brother can undergo.
The sacrifices that each of us make everyday in nothing compared to the one you and your fellow officers have accepted.
One that everyone one of us is aware could happen
Any day, any moment, any second.
You have made me proud,
You have made my job easier because
I am more aware.
I am more cautious
And I will never forget you.
May God hold you in his hand and have you rest in peace.

As a sex crimes investigator for the past several years I understand the resistance faced by Detective Fatta. I send my most sincere condolences to his family and to the officers and their families who were wounded. On August 18, 2004 my department lost Officer Timothy "Jake" Laird to a suspect with a rifle. I feel the pain that your officers are feeling and pray that God protects LEO everywhere. May God bless Detective Fatta and give him peace and rest.

Todd,

We began working together 7 years ago the bond was instant. Our similarities so obvious that it was a natural that our friendship began. When we became partners in the S.E.T. team we road together everyday for almost three years. It seemed like if one of our names were mentioned than you knew the other would be mentioned also. Durng these three years that we road together you were my confidant, my protector and most of all my best friend. When you moved on to the Street Crimes Unit I was so proud. I knew our friendship would not suffer, but in fact it grew even closer. I don't know how I will get through the day without talking to you 4 times a day like we did. I will not be able to return to our Krav Maga training every saturday that we have done for the past 1.5 years. But I will move on because I know thats what you would want me to do.What will keep me going is that I know I will always have you looking over my shoulder and you will be my constant 10-94(backup).

Take care partner!!!!!!
