Officer Johnson--Your story, as well as any, illustrates the split second appearance of death and danger that we all face on a daily basis. Thank you for your all-too-brief service with us in the Thin Blue Line and may you find peace beyond the violence that marked your end of watch. To your Brothers and Sisters at NOPD: you will be in our thoughts.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Officer Johnson. But I know it takes a special person to put on the uniform and make the sacrifices that officers are asked to make. In 1998 a fellow officer and friend of mine was shot and killed on duty so I know that the pain and grief felt by her family, friends and fellow officers is beyond measure. Please know that I will keep Officer Johnson's family as well as my brothers and sisters of the NOPD in my prayers.
Rest In Peace Officer Johnson.

Toya, we became good friends before our academy class started, and you fought hard to wear the blue uniform. You achieved your dream and made your father, mother and daughter proud. We were partners on the night watch, and I will always remember that. You are in a better place now in heaven.

To the family, friends and co-workers of P.O. Johnson. There is nothing that I can say that would help you through this terrible time. The only saving grace when I went through the same thing was that I knew Clint loved being a police officer. He loved it so much, that it would be all that he would talk about when he was around.
I know that you will miss Latoya everyday, but we will never forget her.
Thank you for your sacrifice Latoya, and look Clint up, tell him we miss him everyday...

Hold fast to your memories to all of the cherished moments of the past.
To the blessings and the laughter, the joys and celebrations, the sorrow and the tears.
They all add up to a treasure of fond yesterdays that you shared and spent together, and they keep the one you loved close to you in spirit and thought.
The special moments and memories in your life will never change.
The will always be in your heart today and forevermore.
My deepest sympathy to the family of this fine officer, and to the New Orleans PD.
