Reflections for Police Officer Michael Patrick Gordon

Dear Michael...I lit a candle in memory of your 50th Birthday yesterday, at my parish church, which is St. Michael's in Annadale, VA. I prayed that you are resting peacefully, in God's perpetual light, even while watching over your children, your dear parents, your brothers, and all of your Gordon family. God bless you, and know that you are not forgotten.

Mike...Thinking of you and your family on this 19th Year Remembrance Day, of your being called back home to God, much too young and much too soon. God bless you as you rest peacefully in His perpetual light. You and your family remain in my daily prayers. You are not forgotten.

Hi Mike.
Made it through Memorial Day weekend. All the war movies were on, I know you loved watching them every year. August will be the 19th Annual Roof Top fundraiser at Wrigley Field. It sells out every year and I'm sure this year will be the same. Your two boys are out of college and on their own. Your two brothers kids are in college now, all grown up. Your daughter who was 6 months old when we lost you is all grown up and in Art School. Sure didn't get her talent from me. Miss you every day. I would have changed places with you in a minute so that you could have raised your 3 children. Think of you every day, miss you every day, Watch over everyone for me. Love, Dad

Dear Mike, Sorry this is a day late but wanted to wish you a Happy 49th Birthday. Dad and I made our usual trip to the cemetery to place a flower and say a few words to you. I placed a video of you on FB that Dad received from Riverside PD. You were booking a DUI and just to hear your voice again was actually soothing to me and sad at the same time. You were actually very nice to the man being charged and it touched my heart. Your son graduated from the Dallas Police Academy on 1/27, I know you would have been proud. Dad and I wish he had taken a different path with his Environmental Degree from OU but that apparently wasnt where his heart was. Watch over him and let him make the right choices in his career. Also watch over Malik and Gracie and help them in their future endeavors and also the rest of our family. ...... your Brothers, their spouses and your nephews & nieces. We love and miss you. Mom

Was waiting for the right time to write this. I finally earned my badge and proudly wear it on my chest everyday I go to work. There are plenty of milestones I wish I could tell you about but I know you are watching from above. Please keep looking after all your brothers and sisters in LE, who chose to follow a lifestyle so few take yet so many have opinions about. Love you and hope to keep making you proud.

Your son graduated the police academy down in Texas and is now on patrol. He is the 3rd generation in the family working in law enforcement. Please watch over him. CPD Officers you worked with, including your partner, traveled down as did your two brothers me and Mom to give him support. We had a good size contingent to cheer him on. Watch over everyone for me, especially your son.

Love,
Dad

Dear Mike, we were at your brother Bob's for Xmas Eve yesterday where we gathered for the holiday with the Gordon Clan. Your nephews and nieces are getting big, some already in college. Your sons are out of state living their lives in this crazy world we are trying to live in. Watch over all of them for us as Dad and I are getting older and not in the best of health. You have been loved and missed everyday since you passed 18 years ago. Love, Mom

Johnny Mac joined you last week. Now you two can partner up and be back on patrol. Your son Cullen is still going strong in the Dallas Police Academy. Long academy, almost 9 months. Keep watching over him. Same for Malik, he's on the west coast trying to use his environmental degree in finding a job. Watch over both of them. Grace is in Art School, sure didn't take after me, I can't even draw stick men. Keep her under your wings. Love and miss you, never forgotten. Keep an eye on Mom and the rest of the family.

Not a day goes by where I don’t think of you. I’m four months into the academy down here in Texas, and soon enough I’ll get to bear the badge just like you did. I love you and miss everyday and hope you can keep helping me throughout the academy.

Hi Michael, thought I would drop in leave a message. Seems like everyone has grown up, graduated High School, even college. Your two sons have graduated and are moving on with their lives. Mine seems to have stopped 18 years ago when we lost you, Holidays come and go and life goes on, I do hope there is another place where they say we will all meet again. Please keep watch over your children and the rest of the Clan. You have not been forgotten, we will not let that happen, Love, Dad

Stopping in to ask you to please watch over your son who is presently down in Texas waiting to start the Police Academy and be a 3rd generation law enforcement officer in our family. I tried to get all of you guys to become Firemen as everyone loves a fireman. Mom isn't too thrilled about his choice, but you can't blame her. No parent should have to outlive their children. Please watch over him, keep him safe and on the right path as he goes through the academy., We all love and miss you every day. Not a day goes be I don't think about you. Love Dad
