My Brother called me this morning and told me on the way to work, that you had been killed. Instantly, I began to cry. I have not seen you since 1995, you were one of the nicest, best friends a man could ever ask for, and an incredible Police Officer. It's times like this that I wish I would have kept in touch. As I sit and type this, I still can't beleive you are gone. You kept your faith in God, and served him as well as any man could. I'm sorry Brad, I pray for your family, I can't even begin to imagine how they will miss you. I don't understand, I guess we are not supposed to. We always ask "Why"? With my deepest sympathy, your friend, Kyle

I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME
MY NAME FOR ALL ETERNITY
RECORDED HERE AT THIS HALLOWED PLACE
ALAS, MY NAME, NO MORE MY FACE

" IN THE LINE OF DUTY" I HEAR THEM SAY
MY FAMILY NOW THE PRICE WILL PAY
MY FOLDED FLAG STAINED WITH THEIR TEARS
WE ONLY HAD THOSE FEW SHORT YEARS

THE BADGE NO LONGER ON MY CHEST
I SLEEP NOW IN ETERNAL REST
MY SWORD I PASS TO THOSE BEHIND
AND PRAY THEY KEEP THIS THOUGHT IN MIND

I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME
AND WITH HEAVY HEART AND BENDED KNEE
I ASK FOR ALL HERE FROM THE PAST
DEAR GOD, LET MY NAME BE THE LAST

Sgt Clark, I did not know the man. But I do know the feeling that his friends and loved ones are going thru. I have lost friends in police work in the past. So, all I can say is my he rest in PEACE and my God watch over his department and family during this time of great hard ship.

Sergeant Crawford, so often as I look at the growing list of our fallen heroes, I ask myself "Will this madness ever end?" In my heart though, I know it won't, because unfortunately, there will always exist evil, and that necessitates warriors such as you, to fight it. . . and far too often, when those battles are fought to protect the innocent, our profession suffers casualties. Thank you Sergeant, for being so brave as to walk the path of the warrior, to protect all of us, to give your "all." I honor you, your name, your memory and mostly for your ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget you and your many contributions. With brotherly love and respect, Jim Crotty (Former Richmond, VA Police Officer.)
