The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgement of his god.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"

Officer William Seuis,

To the family and friends of Officer William Seuis, I'm sorry for your loss and know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

You will be remembered...

-by the laughter of your friends, as they recall your spirit and share your stories.

-by your wife, parents and family - as they slowly move past their grief to remember with joy their special times with you.

-and most importantly, in the living legacy that is your daughter's.

And you will be remembered by your brothers and sisters in blue, whether they worked with you or not. They will continue - in your memory - to walk the streets proudly on earth, as you walk the streets of heaven.

Rest in peace - we will meet again.

Choctaw Police Choctaw Oklahoma

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).
Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend. Deputy Jeffrey Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

Its never easy to let go of someone when you think its not their time to go. Just remember that William gave his life to save others. I will hold all of you in my heart over the next several days and keep your head up, its what we do in this profession. Strive to be our best and be there for each other.......Good Bless

To the family and the blue family of this fallen officer, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. This weighs heavy on my heart tonight as we laid to rest one of our own today of the same circumstance. The only thing that I can tell you is keep God in your hearts and know that he has a plan even if it seems unfair or unjust. Always know that our Brother in Blue died a hero giving selflessly of himself.
God Bless

Another fallen hero has gone to patrol the streets of heaven. This is a sad occasion for those that mourn, but it's worse for those of us that remain, as we are still stuck here in HELL!!!!! Dear God, bless this fine officer, those that have gone before him, and those that will follow, and please God have mercy on all our souls.
