Officer Dedman, I was so saddened and angered to learn of your death . . . helping others . . . that which we do.

We will never forget you. You are honorable and I honor you. We all give "some" . . . you my sister have given "all." Rest now, for we will cover your post on the thin blue line.

With love and respect, Jim Crotty (Former Richmond, VA Police Officer.)

My heart goes out the the family of Officer Dedman, We all feel the lose you are about to experience. Her detication to the job was shown by her givin her life to assist a citizen of nashville. Hold your head up high because Officer Dedman was just doing what she was trained to do. God bless and I will pray for you and your family.

Officer Dedman gave the ultimate sacrifice trying to help her fellow man. She is the kind of officer that leaves a lasting impression on everyone she touched. She will be sadly missed.

I was in the officer's work room on the computer with Christy Dedman the weekend before she was killed; we had a pleasant and interesting conversation where she expressed her concerns for her fellow officers. Sunday afternoon, I spoke with her as we passed in the hallway of the Hermitage Precinct. She was coming into work, I was in the process of going home. Her shield was shrouded in honor of a fellow officer tragically taken from us in a diving accident the week before. Little could either of us know that it would be our last conversation and that the next day, we all would be shrouding our shields to honor her memory!
Brothers and Sisters of the Badge, think of this the next time you meet a fellow officer! I can think of at least twice in my career that I gave a quick "Hello" to a co-worker, only to wish later on that I had spent a little more time with them. None of us knows when the meeting we have with a brother or sister might be our last. Take a little more time and truly care about a fellow officer. As another officer of our department shares with us, "We're All We Got."
Christy, I didn't know you well, but I had nothing but respect and admiration for you. Rest in peace, sister, you have borne your duties well! Thank You for your caring and compassionate life!

I am so sorry this tragic event has happened to your agency. Something as simple as helping a motorist takes an officers life. The adage "we risk so much to help others" is so true. I wish strength for her family and fellow officers.

we lost another ofc. last night and it feels like the world is so unforgiving. we assist, protect and defend those who are helpless and defeated. our hearts are torn and full of sorrow. we will miss her as much as we miss others before her.
PATROL IN PEACE OFFICER DEDMAN...the heavens are a brighter and safer place now, that you have made your final watch. protect those up there as you so fondly did on earth.
