My name is Brian McGuire and I work for the South Orange Police Department in South Orange, NJ. Every year for the past five I ride a bicycle to Washington DC with hundreds of fellow officers to support the National Police Memorial located in Washington DC. Every year I ride for a different fallen officer and this past ride (week of May 9. 2005) I rode for Constable Felice Taldone. I purchased a bracelet which I wore the entire week of the ride and I would like to send it to a family member of Felice (preferably his wife and kids). If you could send me information about how I can get this bracelet to them I would greatly appreciate it.

Phil, From the first day I hit the streets in the village, I was told and saw for myself that you were the one to learn from. I was only there 3 weeks when this happened, a new guy. But after talking with you a few times and finding out we were both Marines, it was obvious that everything I was told and saw was true. Even now, as I am still learning, your legend still walks with us. I am saddened to lose the privilege of getting to know you and learning from you. Semper Fi to my brother Marine and officer.

"Be not afraid to walk in this sacred place among the heroes and their spirits, for such is to be among the kingdom of God..."

Rest in Peace Phil, it was a privilege. Thank you.

TO:The family;loved ones;friends and department members: A POLICE OFFICER'S PRAYER:--- O, gentle Lord! Keep the day/night watch with me. As I begin my tour of duty,I ask your protection from all mental, physical and spiritual harm. Sustain me with the knowledge that I am doing your work, endeavoring to keep peace among your people. Help me to be just as I enforce the law without prejudice or favor to anyone. May I be courageous but not reckless in carrying out my duties. Support me with your consoling power when I am tempted to think no one really cares and that I am taken for granted. Sustain in me the conviction that so many thousands do care and are grateful for my presence. Grant that I may be loyal to my partner and my fellow officers, and that I may back them up effectively when called upon for assistance. Lord,I ask that I may return safely, after my tour of duty,to my loved ones and those who love me. I pray that I may be a good and honorable police officer ;and after my tour of duty is over here on earth, may I enjoy the peace and happiness of heaven that you have promised to those who serve you well.AMEN.***REST IN PEACE***Sent to you by the father of Master Officer J.D.Koeppen,Capital City,Raleigh NC:Trooper D.C.Koeppen,NJ State Police and Cadet Officer A.M.Koeppen ,Wilmington NC.
