Reflections for Patrolman Martin Maloney

Officer Maloney
A wounded hero from WWI, who joined NYPD, and while off duty swam 200 yards to save a drowning woman--a peace officer who exudes who we all should want to be. Thanks Officer Maloney for serving the fine citizens of N.Y. and for going overseas to fight for the United States of America. You honor our profession and our flag.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 91rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be remembered and revered. I also thank you for your service to our country during WWI.

Rest In Peace

Martin,

There are no words that can describe you and your selfless service. After your service to our country during WW1 and despite being wounded, you decided to help protect the citizens of New York. You were on your day off and could not, would not pass a cry for help. You gave all so that a total stranger could be saved. You gave up your life for another. There is no words that can describe someone like you.

I can only try to find a word: Hero !!!!

Your sir are never forgotten.
