Hutch, you left our house that night 5 minutes prior to the accident, with hopes of spending the next day with us (as you had for years). We never know if there's ever going to be a tomorrow. We always enjoyed your smiling face and the crazy stuff you came off with. I promise you I will take care of the children you have left behind just as you always have for us. You were the brother Joe Brad never had, the other son Ronald wanted and a great big teddy bear to me. Hutch we loved you so much and those words are never said enough. You lived your dream big guy if you only knew how many hearts you have touched. The entire Hudson Family is saddened but at the same time we were blessed to have you in our lives. Someone said to me the other day "Sorry to hear about the loss of your dear friend" he then finished with "I didn't really mean your "loss"...because when you lose something you don't know where it is and I'm sure you know where he is" God bless you Hutch, I'm sure you'll take care of Heaven just like you took care of us. The only thing I could see the day of your funeral was that smiling face, rared back with those arms crossed, thinking "All this for me?" You got it brother it was unbelievable and ALL for YOU. I love you, Cindy

Hutch, Grayson Co. will not be the same without your smiling face. You realized your childhood dream of becoming a fireman and police officer and you excelled at both. Your funeral service was a wonderful tribute to a great man and a dear friend to many. May God bless and comfort your children all the days of their lives and may they never forget that their Dad died a HERO. Rest in peace Chocolate.

I'LL NEVER FORGET THE NIGHT HUTCH CAME INTO THE DISPATCH OFFICE AND WAS TELLING ME HOW HE THOUGHT HE RESEMBLED CARL WINSLOW OF "FAMILY MATTERS." I THEN ASKED HIM IF IT WAS O.K. IF I CALLED HIM THAT...HE DIDNT MIND, IN FACT, I THINK HE KINDA LIKED IT. HE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR ALL THE OTHER OFFICERS WHO NEEDED BACKUP OR ANY KIND OF HELP. I REMEMBER CALLING HIM A FEW TIMES, WAKING HIM UP EVEN, TO COME OUT AND ASSIST. HE WAS ON THE STREET WITHIN 5 MINUTES. THATS THE KIND OF GUY EVERY DEPARTMENT NEEDS, THATS THE KIND OF CITIZEN EVERY COMMUNITY NEEDS. ILL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT WHEN HE HIT THE STREET THE LAST TIME. ME AND MY PARTNER LYNDIE BRADLEY SENT ANOTHER OFFICER ON AN EVERYDAY, NORMAL COMPLAINT. AS USUAL, HUTCH WAS THERE TO ASSIST. THIS TIME WOULD BE HIS LAST. ON 6-17-2004, AT 2347 HE TOLD US ON THE RADIO HE WOULD BE OUT WITH THE RUNNING JUVENILE, HIS LAST TRANSMISSION. NEXT THING I KNEW, I WAS PAGING THE CORONER, WHO THOUGHT OF HUTCH AS HIS OWN SON. WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM AS "HUTCH", "TWO-THIRTY HUTCH", OR "CARL WINSLOW," BUT WHAT HE LIVED FOR, AND HAD SO MUCH PASSION FOR WAS...."ASSISTANCE!" THAT'S WHAT I WILL REMEMBER HIM BY.
