To the Bennett family,

Just sending this little message to say I'm truly sorry for your loss, and may God be with you all during this difficult time.

GOD SENT ONE OF HIS ANGELS TO DO A DUTY ON EARTH, AND NOW GOD HAS CALLED THAT ANGEL HOME TO DO HIS DUTY THERE WITH HIM AND TO HELP WATCH OVER AND PROTECT YOU TOO.

This story has touch my heart and soul. I'm extremely grateful for the services Officer Bennett and all other persons who choose to protect our way of life give and it always leaves a mark when one pays the ultimate price. I pray that God eases your burdens in the days to come. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

As a member of the family I was deeply moved on the messages that I read as I happened to stumble upon this site. Our whole family is SO proud of the person that Robbie was. We all ove him and miss him dearly. He was one of the best people I knew. I know that the Lord will be with Susan and Caroline during this time, and will give them to know the peace that Robbie is in a better place. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
God Bless

I am praying for your family and the other families daily. I am the wife of a police officer and I pray daily for his safe return home each day. How thankful everyone should be for the sacrifice police officers and their families make to protect all of us. Some make the ultimate sacrifice. We should appreciate and pay them more so they would not have to work so many side jobs and be away from their families trying to provide a living. Again my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I just recently saw the News report on the death of the three Officers. I have been an Officer for 9 years and have lost two very good friends in the line of duty both with the North Carolina Highway Patrol. I can only offer my deepest simpathy in the loss of your loved ones. I will keep you all in my prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss, I cannot tell you I know how you feel. My husband is with the vice and Narcotics division in Jefferson County and runs search warrants daily, I've never been scared or worried before your loss, but now I am terrified. That could happen to any one of our officers at any time, I am so sorry it happened to your family. I am sharing in your grief, for you, for your family and for the life that was taken abruptly. I hope for justice. The same justice that Officer Bennett was upholding at the time of his death, in through this, I hope you find closure. With deepest sympathy and regret.

Rest in peace Officer Charles Robert Bennett.

My fiance, Dennis McElderry, was the first law enforcement casualty of 2003. Dennis died doing a job he loved, just as I'm sure Charles did. It saddens me to know that Dennis was not the first to die in the line of duty, nor will he and Charles be the last to die this way.

Having gone through the pain of losing Dennis I can truly understand and feel the pain that Officer Bennett's family, friends, and co-workers must be feeling. My heart goes out to you all, especially to his wife. No one can truly understand the pain of our loss until they've walked in our shoes. I wish I could give you a few words of wisdom to help you through this tough time, but there isn't anything I can really say or do to make the situation better. Just know that my thoughts are with you.

Please accept my condolences on behalf of the McElderry family and remember that Charles is part of huge law enforcement family. If you ever need anything any number of them will be there for you (as I've quickly found out!) From reading the many reflections posted here, I am certain Charles was well respected and well loved.

Thank you Officer Bennett for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please say "hello" to my fiance Dennis for me.

Peace, Love, Luck, and Happiness!

In loving memory of P.O. Rob Bennett: Sometimes my heart is just too heavy to try to write something so at
times it takes a couple of days before I feel like I can respond. My heart
is heavy for all the victims here cuz there are so many! I feel for the
officer and his family and for their great loss. How much pain there is in all of this! To the little girl who
will never again experience her Daddy's touch and love, to the wife who must go on without her husband's help and support, to the parents who should never
have to bury their children, to the siblings, other relatives, friends and
co-workers who must continue with such a void in their lives, I am truly
sorry for your pain. This is God size pain, but Christ is able to carry
our burdens. There is none greater than Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
We don't get to Heaven based on what we do, but what He did for us by dying on that cross for everyone's sin. AMEN! There is now a huge void that cannot be filled. God be with all those who mourn and may His promises lift all those with heavy hearts for many years to come.
