Some of my fondest memories of our Arizona visits are the times we spent with you & Lisa. It never mattered what were doing, having fun, hiking or helping around your home and cabin. It always felt so good to be there. You made a big impact on the Constien family for such a short time we had with you. Rob & I miss you....all of our kids do too.

Don, I always recall your enthusiasm for additional training opportunities in the department helicopters. You were first to request it and always showed up with a positive attitude and "can do" mentality. I also enjoyed our many conversations about personal likes and experiences dealing with the many outdoor activities that you had a great passion for involving yourself.
I will always think of you as a friend.

I can't believe you agreed to get married in our living room!
But then I saw how close you were with your squad.

Good hunting.

DON,
YOU LEFT US ALL ENROUTE TO HEAVEN DOING WHAT YOU ALWAYS DID BEST.... SERVING OTHERS. MAY GOD COMFORT YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR ABSENCE. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED; BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.

Lisa, I always remember Don as he talked about his next hunting or fishing trip, but when Don spoke of you I knew that he not only loved you but loved his marriage to you. I remember flying with Don and I saw a deer antler on the ground, so I landed close to it and Don looked at me not knowing what I was doing. After landing I told Don to look out about 10 yards on his side of the helicopter. Well Don almost set a record in jumping out of the ship so he could get those antlers. He was a good friend and always missed.

Don came to visit me in my office one day about 6 years ago. He was looking for some federal grant money for a project he was working on, and we had a very pleasant chat. I remember him as vibrant and engaging. God bless him and his family.

It's been nearly 4 years since you left us to join the ranks of all our honorable law enforcement brothers and sisters in God's kingdom. WE know you are a valuable asset to His Police Department with all your skills, talents, honor, wisdom and integrity. Those of us still here will always remember your sacrifice and your tender loving smile. WE also know Lisa has dedicated her talents to assist the families of all our brothers and sisters who are with you now. One day we will all be together in His kingdom and will be looking after the rookies who took our places as you are already doing. God bless you richly and deeply. In Him. Tom Bradley #456 PPD

Rest in peace Brother, I am proud to have served with such a hero

Lisa
I want to thank you for the words you and Alissa provided to Joshua Norris EOW 7/5/07 who was to be my son in-law , they touched my daughter and has helped my family during a dark time. My daughter had a general idea of how large our police family was, since her grandfather retired from the force, and uncle, aunt and I are still on the job, but your reflection showed just how large the family of blue is. Both of you are Angels and both of your families are in my families prayers. God Bless you

Don, I was in DC for Police Week over the 4 year anniversary of your E.O.W. It was hard being there at the wall and seeing all the new names and faces, it brought back a lot of memories of my first visit there when you were honored. You will never be forgotten.

IT sounds like you were a very capable individual and your services were truly
valuable. It also sounds like you were very much in love with your wife and
she with you. You had a very special relationship and it grieves us that you
weren't given the opportunity to grow old together. Your wife has really used
this negative in her life and turned it into a positive by helping others who
are grieving the loss of a loved one. It always helps when someone has already walked in their shoes and I'm sure it is also healing for her. You are remembered on this 4th anniversary of your EOW, missed by your friends and family, and appreciated for the sacrificial service you gave.

Today is four years since the tragic day, you are missed so much by your friends, family, and co-workers. We all have a memory of your smirky smile when you were up to no good and plotting a prank on one of us, just to bring a smile on our faces. We love you and look forward to the day when we are able to see you again. Rest in peace my friend, you will forever be in my heart!

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
