Dear Jimmy,
How are you mate, It's been a few years since I got the call about you from Leon henry. I still tell my kids how you always gave me a hard time being an Australian "James Bond" I remember sitting and eating with you and you would do your best to get a rise out of me. I glad I made you laugh (at my expense) and how much you liked your food. I found some old photos and film of us training (2000) and my kids just love it.They think we were having way too much fun. My kid brother just finished 12 years with 22nd SAS but unfortunately got hurt and still recovering.

I am proud to have known you and called you my friend. God is watching over your family and they will always be safe.

Till we meet again,

Your Aussie Mate

Sergeant Gilbert, six (6) years later you are still remembered, with honour.

Thank you for your long service as a police officer protecting the community. The citizens of Georgia were always well protected under your watch.

A tragic and unnecesary loss.

Jimmy,
Its hard to believe its been 5 1/2 years since I woke up on a Sunday morning to a Channel 2 news story saying that a Henry Co PD officer had been killed. I woke up Dana and said I hope it was not Jimmy. Then 15 minutes later Austin called to tell Jeremy of your passing. 5 1/2 years.
I wish you were still around to talk about the PD and I could talk to you about the FD.
Its was amazing to me that we were friends and then our sons became friends as well.
Many people did not know that you were a firefighter first.
Every time I go to the cemetery I go see Daddy and then I always go over to your grave.
Jimmy I always miss you and wish you were back with us.
Rest in peace brother!

I was shocked and at a lost for words when I saw your picture on the memorial page. I worked for HCPD for a short period of time. Lt. Gilbert was the one that brought me up to speed on all my training records. I came their from APD, and lt Gilbert treated me with the upmost respect. Lt. Gilbert was a standup guy, and a funny guy and guy once you meet him, you could never forget him. God Bless you and God Bless your family.

Dear Jimmy & Family,
I was checking the ODMP web site for this years Memorial in Washington DC and wanted to stop by and let you all know that we still think you you all. Last year the S.O. experienced the lost of our first deputy while on duty and his name will be added to the memorial this year.
We are gearing up for our basketball memorial game this weekend and as the Blue & Brown get together for a time of rememberence of you & Chuck and honoring Scarlett & his family we continue to pray that no one else will be added to the list.
I hope if your family can that they will come out and join us for the game and service; knowing that you will be watching over us and cheering for your favorite (Brown) team.

DADDY, I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU...AND MISS U SOOO MUCH...YOU ARE THE BEST FATHER ANY DAUGHTER COULD HAVE ASKED FOR... I LOVE YOU....

THIS IS TO EVERYONE WHO READS MY FATHERS REFLECTIONS:

PERHAPS YOU SENT A LOVELY CARD,
OR SAT QUIETLY IN A CHAIR;
PERHAPS YOU SENT BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS,
IF SO, WE SAW THEM THERE.
PERHAPS YOU SENT OR SPOKE KIND WORDS
AS ANY FRIEND COULD SAY;
PERHAPS YOU WERE NOT THERE AT ALL
JUST THOUGHT OF US THAT DAY.
WHATEVER YOU DID TO CONSOLE THE HEART,
WE THANK YOU SO MUCH, WHATEVER THE PART.

Hi, Jimmy ---
It's been a while since my last notation, but know that I think of you often, especially lately. I know that you have a hand in what's going on down here and for that I'm truely thankful. Allison & Austin & I are closer than we ever have been. They are wonderful young adults and I just know how proud you would be of them. I know it's because of you and all the love and support you gave them. I spent last week with Allison and Adam (you'd really like him- he reminds me of you a little). Austin and Alexis are coming up here to Kentucky on Thursday to spend the week with me. (Be their co-pilot on that ride). Went to our old house last week. Our names are still engraved in the cement at the front door. Also went to your graveside and you know that conversation, 'cause I felt you there. Please continue to guide our children, watch over them, and keep them safe. They miss you so much, and it's difficult to see them struggle with dealing with your physical absence. Joanne, Diane, & Missy are struggling as well. There are so many things I'd love to be able to say to you in person, but for now this site will have to do. Just know this--- You are missed and loved very much by all who knew you, and whose lives you touched in many different ways. God Bless!! Love, Andi

Daddy-O,
Hey I just wanted to say I love you and miss you so much! And please keep watching over us down here! About a month or so ago I was watching the news and I saw where two officer in Dekalb Co. were killed working security at there second job. It just briught back memories of you working at HCPD and at the golf tournment the week of and on my b-day. And then three days later having Eddy and the guys standing at the front door. And they both had three or four kids. And I knew the pain that they were going thru. Well I miss you so much Daddy and I love you! And don't forget I WILL ALWAYS BE DADDY'S GIRL!
LOVE ALWAYS,
ALLY
