Brian,
I wanted to take the time and thank you for your service and a job well done. Mrs. Haas thank you for your kind words on my Brian's page. We have so many things in common with our son's death. Both roll over accidents and we also went to bed not realizing before the sun came up our lives would be forever changed. No matter how many years come and go I find it to still be as yesterday. We move on the best we can and I believe a part of us will always stay frozen in time on their dreadful day. I find a piece of my heart will always be missing until we meet again. They are just one breath away and one day we will hold them again. I heard a song called ( Unending Love Amazing Grace by Chris Tomlin) that reminds me God's love and ours is an unending love and one day we will see their smile again. I saw the video on youtube. Thank you again for thinking of my family for we truly know the pain we carry in our hearts.

I still have your "157" sticker on the back window of my truck so that you are not forgotten for the sacrifice that you made. I see your memorial patrol unit and the golf tournament in Clewiston, and realize that through your parent’s dedication to your memory that you will never be forgotten. The Haas memorial fund that assists H.C.S.O. Deputies with attending schools, and academies represents the fact that your dedication to the Law Enforcement profession will forever be remembered. I hope that your family knows that the Law Enforcement community misses and loves you as well.

“Always leave your job better for the next guy, because that next guy could be you” I read that quote somewhere and thought to myself, that you did just that through your enthusiasm for the job and the work of your parents. You are missed every day.

Our Law Enforcement family lost BIG time when we lost you. There is no doubt in my mind that you would have been the kind of Deputy that would have brought honor to our profession. We miss you, but we carry you in our hearts daily! It was my honor to serve with you. Heroes never die.

Brian,

Nine years ago tonight life was good, actually it was better than good. When we went to sleep late that night, we were blissfully unaware that a tragedy would shatter our lives before the sun rose the next morning.

Those nine years seem like an eternity since we've heard your voice and felt your hug, yet there are times when the details of your death are so vivid and the pain so intense, that it feels like yesterday.

We miss you more today than we ever thought possible. A parent's love is forever.

Brian,

Today should be your 30th bithday. Dad and I will celebrate tonight; remembering that memorable, wonderful night of your birth. How we wish you were here to celebrate with us. Twenty one birthdays will never be enough, and we can't help wondering where you would be today.

Brian,

Dad and I just spent some time out in Oklahoma with Amanda and her family. Your nephew reminds us so much of you, when you were his age. He loves trucks, tractors, trains, rocks, and dirt, sound familiar? We had to keep catching ourselves, as we'd often start to call him by your name.

I am sad that you never had the opportunity to enjoy being an uncle to K. & E., and they never got to experience playing with their Uncle Brian. Just one of so many things you missed in your short 21 years on earth.

I have spent most of today thinking about the precious little boy you were and the great young man you became. I miss you so much.

Time has become an ugly reminder of just how long it's been. Eight long years since we've heard your voice, saw your smile, looked in your eyes, and felt one of your great hugs. A parent's love is forever, and you live forever in our hearts.

Brian,

I do not want to be sad tomorrow, your 29th birthday. Dad and I want to "celebrate" your birth, recalling how happy we were that night, 29 years ago. So today, I will allow myself to wonder where you would be in life if you had not died a few weeks after your 21st birthday. I think of all that you have missed; weddings, births, and even deaths, and I am sad.

I love and miss you more than I ever thought possible. Happy Birthday my precious son.
