Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Officer Thomas Joel Steiner

God bless sir, we got it from here. This morning when I put that black band on my badge, I realized that I have put that thing on far too many times. Despite this, you will not be forgotten.

My brother rest in peace, we will take it from here. God bless you and your family.

The Man In Blue

He gives her a kiss as he leaves for the day,
Leans down to kiss the little one, wishing he could stay.
He slips into the blue uniform proudly and looks into the mirror,
Straightens out the medal badge, and puts on the face of “No Fear”
Gets into his vehicle and drives thru his beat,
He helps several citizens and hasn’t yet had a chance to eat.
He keeps his head up high as he heads to his next call,
He feels the needs of the people are much more greater, and his are minute and small
It’ s almost the end of shift as he begins to start heading back,
Thinking about getting home and tucking his little one into the sack.
Suddenly a shot rings out and everything gets dark,
His partner puts out a call for help and puts the vehicle into park.
He holds his partner in his arms and tells him its okay,
“Please tell my wife and son I love them”, his partner begins to pray,
Voices begin to echo and memories begin flashing by,
He remembers the day they said, “I do” and the sound of his son’s first cry.
Now a victim of the hand he had lived “To Protect and Serve”
The Man in Blue is end of watch, its something he didn’t deserve.

I hurt, just as everyone else does, to know that Officer Steiner has been taken from us. Yesterday, when I heard the news of the shooting, I prayed for his safety.

Unfortunately, we know the pain that the CHP, his family & friends are going through all too well. When is the madness going to stop?!

My deepest sympathies go out to you, Mrs. Steiner, and your son. I wish there was something I could do. I keep you all in my prayers. God Bless...

My heart goes out to the family of Officer Steiner. It is sad to see something crazy like this after testifying in traffic court, but the world is a dangerous and evil place. I pray that you will watch over me throughout my years as a young adult and be with me in tough times. There have been many to go before you,and more to come after you, but all of you who have paid the ultimate sacrifice will NEVER be forgotton.Thank you for your hard work.

To those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, Let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I traveled alone.

So grieve a while for if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart,

I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen wih your heart, you'll
Hear all of my love around you soft and clear

And when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say,
"Welcome Home"

We too lost a very dear friend that was an officer almost a year ago. May u rest in peace young man

Unbelievable. This is a tragic loss. What officer would believe
that he would be gunned down after testifying in traffic court .
We ourselves are dealing with the lost of a deputy today, so I
understand the pain that the family, friends and officers of CHP must be feeling right now. My sympathy to all of you.
May God Bless Officer Thomas Steiner's family in your loss.
He will not be forgotten. CHP keep up the good fight and besafe.
