A true hero is measured by the actions taken in life. Deputy Filmore is, and will be forever remembered as a hero. May God Bless your soul, Deputy Filmore. God will have a true, dedicated, hero to patrol the streets of heaven.
One day you will be there to meet us fellow officers that will follow you into the gates of heaven, and if we maybe so blessed we will shake your hand and thank you for your dedication to the job.
May god wrap his loving arms around the family, friends, and fellow officers to comfort them in this enormous loss.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the men and women of the, Clinton County Sheriff's Department. Though we may never meet nor may we know your names, we feel your loss, and forever we will open our thoughts and prayers to our brothers and sisters of your agency.

Sincerely Yours,
The Men and Women of the Mason County Sheriff’s office – Ludington Michigan.

I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME,
MY NAME FOR ALL ETERNITY.
RECORDED HERE AT THIS HALLOWED PLACE,
ALAS, MY NAME, NO MORE MY FACE.
"IN THE LINE OF DUTY" I HEAR THEM SAY.
MY FAMILY NOW THE PRICE TO PAY.
MY FOLDED FLAG STAINED WITH THEIR TEARS,
WE ONLY HAD THOSE FEW SHORT YEARS.
THE BADGE NO LONGER ON MY CHEST,
I SLEEP NOW IN ETERNAL REST.
MY SWORD I PASS TO THOSE BEHIND,
AND PRAY THEY KEEP THIS THOUGHT IN MIND.
I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME,
AND WITH A HEAVY HEART AND BENDED KNEE,
I ASK FOR ALL HERE FROM THE PAST...

DEAR GOD LET MY NAME BE THE LAST.

Oh where, oh where, can my Friend be?
The Lord took him away from me
He's gone to heaven, so I've got to be good
So I can see my Friend when I leave this world

We were out on a call in the Departments Car
We hadn't driven very far
There in the road, straight ahead
A car was stalled, the engine was dead

I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right
I'll never forget the sound that night
The screamin tires, the bustin glass
The painful scream that I heard last

Oh where, oh where, can my Partner be?
The Lord took him away from me
He's gone to heaven, so I've got to be good
So I can see my Friend when I leave this world

When I woke up the rain was pourin down
There were people standing all around
Something warm flowing through my eyes
But somehow I found my Partner there that night
I lifted his head, he looked at me and said
"Hold me, just a little while"
I held him close, I kissed him, our last kiss
I found the love that I knew I had missed.

Well now he's gone
Even though I hold him tight
I lost my love, my life, that night.

Oh where, oh where, can my Partner be?
The Lord took him away from me
He's gone to heaven, so I've got to be good
So I can see my Partner when I leave this world

You are Loved and will be Missed.
Great Job you have done We will never forget you.
