The Correctional Officers Prayer

Lord, I ask for courage...
Courage to face and conquer my own fears.
Courage to take me where others will not go.

I ask for strength...
Strength of body to protect others.
Strength of spirit to lead others.

I ask for dedication...
Dedication to my job, to do well.
Dedication to my community, to keep it safe.

Give me, Lord, concern for all those who trust me.
and compassion for those who need me.

And, please Lord, through it all
watch over me and keep me true.

Turnkey Pfliiger, I can't see how being a Corrections Officer could be an easy job either now, or then, but thank God there are plenty of men and women who do the job. You truly are a special breed and Turnkey Pfliiger, on this 78th anniversary of your murder, I just would like to say, you are a hero.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace.

Fred....reading your bio brings back memories of when I worked in the Colorado DOC. Some of the older inmates & COs used the term "turnkey"...a phrase from a different time. It also reminded me of the hazards prison officers face every second of their shift. Thank you for your service & God bless.
