Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Special Agent Thomas John Wyatt

My heart goes out to you on this 2nd
anniversary. I know your hearts are
still heavy and your loss is great. May you find comfort in the Lord Jesus and may His promises heal

You have not been forgotten by those that love you nor the Family Blue. Your memory will live on in their hearts for as long as they walk this earth. I know what your family is feeling as I walk in their shoes. Protect your family and help them with their grief. You are a true hero and will never be forgotten.

Tom,

Today is a day when your family profoundly feels your absence, as do your friends and co-workers.

On a day when many gifts are given with no particular purpose or intent, the only meaningful gift we can give you is to carry on, following your example, and to watch over those you loved along the way.

The tree may have been cut down, but new shoots are growing from the stump. And they will continue upward, until they grow large enough to provide shade for all those who seek comfort in their heartfelt memories of you.

Rest in peace, SA Wyatt. You are not forgotten.

Tom,

Today I will celebrate your birthday with a heavy heart. Although I am sad that you are not physically here with us, I will be glad for the time that you were. I will remember happy times and think of how wonderful it is to have you for a brother.

Love,
Gia

Tom,
The day we lost you was a very painful day for everyone who knew you. Since then I continue to see you in people's work everyday. My probationary officer just asked me why I did something a certain way and I found myself thinking, "that's the way Wyatt taught me to do it." When you came to our area you brought a work ethic second to none. Since then many have tried to keep up, but no one has succeeded. You are still and will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Your family is too. We will always be there for your wife and kids. Rest easy there will always be a CWC squad patrolling your neighborhood in the middle of the night. We miss you.

Our beloved Tom,

You loved life and lived it accordingly. You had such a passion for your family and the profession you chose. You made a difference in this world and everyone's life you've touched. You were a remarkable man. Our only solace is, that you died knowing how much you are loved and how proud we are of you.
Loved forever,

Mom and Dad

Agent Wyatt,

Today will be a difficult day for your family, friends and co-workers. I met your sister last September and she is such a sweet and wonderful person, but I am sure that you already know that. I hope that your family finds comfort in the memories that they have of you. They will be in my thoughts today as they spend this day thinking about you and your life with them.

A Million Times
A million times we've needed you,
A million times we've cried.
If love alone could've saved you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one else will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go lone.
Part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.

Gia, we are thinking of your family today,

Hugs,

Dear Tom,

I just found out about this websight last week. So many have already left reflections, and I will tell our family so they can too.

There is so much I would like to say to you, I don't really know where to start. Yesterday, I was in the shower and Bradley came in crying because he cut his finger. As I peeked out to take a look at his finger, I saw Trevor taking out a band-aid and the first-aid cream. He said not to worry because he would take care of it. As I listened to them, I was filled with the memory of when I fell and cut my chin. I remembered how you helped me to my bike, and stopped at every corner to wipe the blood off of my chin with one of your favorite shirts. I even remember the big purple sucker they gave me at the hospital. I gave it to you because you were my hero. That much has never changed. You always (except maybe two years in junior high) have been a hero to me. You are the reason I prayed for a boy first, I wanted my youngest to have a big brother like I had.

I miss you so much Tom! You make mom and dad (and me) so proud, it's still hard to believe you are gone. You will never be gone from our thoughts and our hearts. We think of you always! When I feel like I can't get through, I think of you, you never gave up at anything, and I won't let you down.

I love you,

Gia

My prayers are with the family, friends and co-workers of Agent Wyatt. I know to well what you are going through and dealing with each and everyday. The pain does not go away, or it hasn't for me. The only thing that helps me is knowing that Clint loved being a police officer, as I know that Special Agent Wyatt love what he was doing also.
Thomas I know that your family will miss you everyday, but we will never forget you. Look Clint up tell him we sure miss him...

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

Please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in. Thank you Agent Thomas for a job well done. Please continue to watch over us and protect us as only you can. You will forever be at our side and in our hearts.

For those of you who still have loved ones with us please take the time to tell them how much you appreciate and care about them.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

Mrs. Wyatt, my heart aches that another hero has lost his life in the line of duty. I too lost my husband after just 5 months of marriage in a motor vehicle accident.
Please know that God is taking special care of your husband and that he is your new guardian angel while he is patrolling the highways of heaven. You and your family will remain in my thoughts and in my prayers during this tragic time.

To the family and friends of brother officer Wyatt, we do the job for the love of it. It takes a special person to endure what we do, so please know that he died doing what he loved and not many folk can say that. God bless his wife for allowing and supporting him in this.
