Reflections for Special Agent Thomas John Wyatt

To the friends and family of Agent Wyatt, may God bless you and be with you in your time of sorrow. America lost another hero today; Agent Wyatt was doing his job when he was called to heaven. Rest in peace brother your work on earth is done; go patrol the highways of heaven and guide us all to protect and serve others safely. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. God Speed!

Tom,
When I arrived at the scene I knew I recognized your truck, but I just couldn't place it. There were so many there to help you. As I spoke with my partner something cought my eye. When I reached down into the snow and found your badge my heart sank and my stomach turned. It was then I realized it was you. You were such an asset to all the departments you served in the area and your service will be deeply missed. My sincere condolences to your family.
Rest easy brother,

I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME,
MY NAME FOR ALL ETERNITY.
RECORDED HERE AT THIS HALLOWED PLACE,
ALAS, MY NAME, NO MORE MY FACE.
"IN THE LINE OF DUTY" I HEAR THEM SAY.
MY FAMILY NOW THE PRICE TO PAY.
MY FOLDED FLAG STAINED WITH THEIR TEARS,
WE ONLY HAD THOSE FEW SHORT YEARS.
THE BADGE NO LONGER ON MY CHEST,
I SLEEP NOW IN ETERNAL REST.
MY SWORD I PASS TO THOSE BEHIND,
AND PRAY THEY KEEP THIS THOUGHT IN MIND.
I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME,
AND WITH A HEAVY HEART AND BENDED KNEE,
I ASK FOR ALL HERE FROM THE PAST...

DEAR GOD LET MY NAME BE THE LAST.
