Ricardo,
Two days before you gave the ultimate sacrifice, i was working out with you. You asked me for a spot and I remembered you were benching 315 x5....If only it was a fist fight instead of a gun battle, i know you'd still be with us. You will never be forgotten.

Hola, Ricardo!
I just found this wonderful website where I can leave you messages. As you know, I teach first grade and every year we cover community workers and how they help us. When we talk about police officers and the tough job they have, I talk about you. I tell my students the great things you did and how special you were to me and the people of L.A. They think it is really cool that I actually knew you, and we grew up together in the same neighborhood.
You are always in my thoughts and prayers. Sometimes when I dream about you I feel that you are talking to me. I never got the chance to say thank you for always being a great friend to me and my brother. I wish you could still be here, so we could both talk to you. I appreciate you always having wise words for him. He always listened to you. I am going to tell him about this website, so hopefully he will communicate with you.
Ricardo recuerda que nunca te olvidaremos. Eres un angel que siempre estara protegiendonos. Gracias amigo.

Hi Ricardo, as always thinking of you. I try to stay away from this website because reading the reflections can be very emotional. I feel this is the only way my "HELLO" will reach you. Lately I have found myself trying to forget and I dont understand why, I think its time to let go but I just cant and it makes me angry...I miss you so much....keep us safe and help your fellow officers make it home safe day by day..

Liz-
I can't believe it's taken me this long to write. Things like this are NOT easy to deal with, especially when someone like YOU is taken from all of us.
Liz, you probably don't remember me, but then again, maybe you do (you're a big guy with an even bigger heart). In case you forgot, let me remind you.
I went to Hami and played baseball with your little bro Jorge. I was on the JV team while you played with the big boys, Varsity. When I first was trying out for the team, I was only in 10th grade, I saw you on the Varsity team, playing the most important position on the field, catcher. I said WOW!!! Who is that big guy with that big voice, screaming, "C'mon Ike, gimme a shot! C'mon Lalo gimme a shot, bring it around!" You were a real leader, a real inspiration on that diamond. Coach loved you man!!! A great athlete, I'm pretty sure you played football too.
What I couldn't believe was that, that same guy, with that big voice on the baseball diamond was the same quiet, gentle, good-hearted young man that sat right next to me in my Chemistry class that same 10th grade year. The next day, after tryouts, I explained to you in class, that I knew your little bro, Jorge...Oh and BTW, how cool are you being the starting catcher for the Varsity baseball team. I wanted you to tell me everything I needed to know...and just had to ask "Oh, BTW, who's that Uyeshima guy? You just smiled, that said it all. That smile...
I know this sounds crazy Liz- but the first impression you made on me was in that very Chem class where the teacher, of all people, would call roll and called you LIZ!!! Wow, if a guy is known by his nickname, even by his teacher, he must be something special...and that you are LIZARD! A very special person that was taken away from us all way too quick.
You are on my mind and in my heart- always have been since that fateful day. I'll see you sometime in the future, runnin' with the big dawgs, as always.

It has been 4 years since that horrible day that you were taken from us and I can still remember hearing the news. I was one of your instructors in the Academy and I always laugh when I think of the stories that your class shared after your patrol ride along. We will always remember your smile and your pride in being an LAPD officer. I wear your memorial bracelet which reminds me of your ultimate sacrifice. Rest In Peace. KMA-367

"Follow Me, Fallen Brother, I'll Show You The Way."
