Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Ricardo Lizarraga

Hey Liz,
Its been over three years...hhmmm..feels like we just got off probation. But it took me this long to write something...funny huh?
It feels like yesterday when we were sitting in the front row of roll call and wishing next DP would bring in some more recruits, so the attention would be taken off of us...YEAH RIGHT!!
I am truly glad to say you were my friend and also honored to be able to graduate with you and the rest of the 9-01 class.(class 7-01 who graduated beside you because we didn't have a enough graduates for a ceremony HA!HA!).
Even on probation as well as in the field as a P-II, you always kept a huge smile and positive outlook on everything....even the bad days you would just set forth your determination and get through it. Thank you for that and everything else we did together in 77th.
Please continue on and Watch our backs partner!!
My prayers are always with your family....God Bless.

Your friend and brother in blue,

Man can you believe what happened to the black pearl? Luckily we were able to get it back with just a little bit more damage to the front. What a crazy night. I could just see you laughing at us as we ran down the street. Good thing everything turned out OK. Thanks for looking after us last night. Stay Up Bro!!!!

Hey, I called your cell phone the other day and it was good to hear voice, just wish you would have answered. We miss you so much and as time goes by it is getting much easier but your memory is still very painful sometimes I think I feel your presence. Keep watching over us and your fellow brothers and sisters in blue.

Love you always my angel in blue...

I was listening to a song that I think best decribes you, it says, " I'm as strong as a thousand armies but as soft as a pedal on a long sten rose". I thought that I would share that with you my friend.

I thought of you with love today
but that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday
and days before that too.
I think of you in silence
I often speak your name,
all I have are memories
and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake
with which I'll never part
God has you in His keeping
I have you in my heart.

Thinking of you all the time, I miss you so much

Ricardo

We miss you so much, one can only imagine how we feel but no one really knows since we keep our feelings to ourself. It still hurts not to have you here and not a day goes by without your name being mentioned. I know you're watching over us knodding your head saying "you guys need to stop" but its hard.
keep on protecting us from above, continue to watch over your fellow brothers and sisters in blue and bring them home safe to their families. I love you and I wish you were here.

In My Heart Forever

February 21, 2007

I miss you everyday, but this date is always the hardest. It's difficult to think about you and not remember the horror and shock of that day. But today is a new day and once again I try to allow your memory to make me a better person instead of just being sad. Even though I cry everytime I visit you on this page, I also smile to see what a huge impact you made on the life of everyone that you knew, and even those that you didn't know. As a friend, you taught me what real friendship is all about. So, with that in mind, I will try to let eveyone in my life know just how much they mean to me. Thank you for just being you. We miss you.

The reality is that this time of year is especially hard...without you. First the new year, without you, then your birthday, without you, then that crappy day, when you were taken so suddenly from all of us. It's going to be 3 years now, unbelieveable, so unfair, yet so real....

Take care bro. Missing you, and ALWAYS thinking of you.

Your bro.

To the sister and family of Officer Lizarraga. From the family in the white mini van. You are right. We do know and understand the pain you a feeling each and everyday. Our son and your brother lost their lives doing what they loved most. Being in Law Enforcement. Wearing that Badge and Uniform made them very proud as well as it did the rest of the family. Thank you for visiting our Son's Memorial Page. We are all one family now. So the next time you see our mini van please honk and wave. God bless your family.

All my memories of you are from when i was very small and to think that years went by without seeing you guys makes me sad and feel that we sometimes take life for granted.

Happy New Year my Angel in Blue

Keep that beautiful smile shining down on us.

December 31, 2006

I miss you all the time but this time of the year seems to be the hardest. I try to think of all the happy memories but the sad ones always follow. Keep watching over us and your fellow officers, keep them safe.

We wish you were here.

Your tour of duty ended on the day of my sons 30th birthday, little did I know it was his last birthday as he was killed six month later. My thoughts are with your loved ones during this holiday season as I know every day is hard to get through, but holidays are even harder. I have decorated the outside of my home for Christmas in all blue lights. One of those lights will be lit every night until New Years in your honor as my way of saying you are a hero and have not been forgotten. Continue to keep watch over your loved ones.

WHAT'S UP RICARDO
AS I WAS LOOKING FOR YOUR ELEM. SCHOOL'S PHONE NUMBER (RICARDO "LIZ" SCHOOL) I FOUND THIS AWESOME WEBSITE. MAN I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE MISS YOU BUT WE ARE DOING EVERYTHING FOR YOUR NAME AND WHAT YOU MEANT TO US TO LIVE ON. I ATTENDED THE CEREMONY OF THE NEW ELEM. SCHOOL AND AS I WAS SITTING THERE, I ENVISIONED YOU JUST NODDING YOUR HEAD AND WAIVING YOUR ARMS, LIKE SAYING "MAN, THERE'S NO NEED FOR THIS." IT WAS GREAT TO BE THERE SEEING MANY OF THE FELLAS BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY HONORING YOU AND WHAT YOU REPRESENT. I STILL THINK OF YOU ALOT, ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M WATCHING BOXING MATCHES OR YOUR COWBOYS LOSE, HA!HA! YOU STILL OWE ME THAT COUNTY LUNCH FROM THIRD GRADE. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW I WILL BE SPONSORING YOUR SCHOOL. I WILL BE DELIVERING A BUNCH OF GIFTS FOR CHRISTMAS AND I WILL BE WORKING WITH MARC TO SPONSOR SOME KIDS FOR HIS SUMMER CAMP. THE PERSON, THE NAME, THE FRIEND, THE BROTHER, THE SON AND THE HUSBAND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

MISS YOU RICARDO!

I miss you Liz! Sometimes the memories of that day come back to me and I am overcome with emotion. I have to stop and tell myself that you wouldn't want us to be sad when we think of you. So, I remember some of the stories you used to tell, the way you would always lower and shake your head when you would laugh. I remember the way you would carry around that little towel that you would use to wipe the sweat off of your shiny bald head. I remember being on a run with you once and your back was killing you. You stopped and leaned against a tree and the PT instructor ran up and asked you if you were holding it up. You were hilarious without even trying! Thanks for those memories. You'll be in my heart forever.
