To this very blessed man who gave the ultimate to protect those around him I say thank you sir . We never got to meet (i live in tx. ) to his wife and family I do understand the pain and hurt you have (my mother was taken in a murder for hire) just know that he loved each and everyone of you as much as you loved him . Wally, I never got the chance to meet you but I had to comment that you could never have guessed how much your memory would hover over Riverdale and nearby. Whether it's your name on the sign out in the front of the dept or that red star with 101 on the squads. A lot of people out here loved you brother, that is for sure. It hurts to see the pain that your wife and parents have suffered losing you. I'll remember them in my prayers.

Yesterday was the 10th Anniversary of that horrible day that we lost you. When God called you to be with him, we all wondered why---10 years later we are still wondering. I know He must have had a good reason but it's still hard to accept. There was a beautiful Mass in your honor and a nice Memorial Stone dedicated from the Department. I was kind of dreading the hoopla but it all turned out to be really beautiful. We sent all kinds of Blue Balloons up to you and I know that you were smiling down at us. We love and miss you with every breath that we take. You will never be forgotten!!!

As it's gets closer to the date, I keep thinking of Wally, and his beautiful family. I think of his partners and fellow officers. I think of his mom & dad as well as his in laws. I know them all and call them my friends. They are much more than just friends. They are, and will always be family.
