Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Captain James E. "Jim" Baugh

I Am the wife of a cop, I am caring for his 3 children and 1 of my own. I personally just want to tell you that I am here if you need me. It's hard for me, my husband shot someone, and that is something I am dealing with every day. For some reason, I feel sorry for that family too. Anyway, If you want to talk, I'm here for you. I am so sorry for your loss, I can't even think of th pain you and the kids are going through. If you need me, please.... I will be here.
My name is Debi

LIFE IS ETERNAL

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.

It is an object of beauty and strength. And I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud - just where the sea and the sky come down to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says: "There! She's gone."

Gone where? Gone from my sight - that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her; and just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There! She's gone," there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout. "There she comes!"

Dear Captain Baugh, Please watch over us and protect us from above. Pray for us as we pray for you daily. Thank you for your dedication to make this earth a better place to live and for your ultimate sacrifice. Take care, dear one. We love you.

Jim was a good man who will be missed by all he came in contact with. He was a supurb law enforcement officer and a great supporter of police training in Indiana.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

It is my wish that I will be able to give a little of the caring and kindness you gave others, and myself in our time of need. I am proud to have known you and been able to call you a friend.

Although we never had a chance to meet, we shared a common goal.
To make the world a better place, but now it's taken a toll.
Now I say to you in words of a prayer, I will remember what you've done.
Your death was the ultimate in sacrifice, how tragic that you're gone.
One day we'll meet and talk about our common goal and then,
The heartache that I 'm feeling now, will no longer have to mend.
