To the family and co-workers of Sgt. Russell, I will pray for you tonight. Please remember that he will never be forgotten, because he is part of a family that won't allow his memory to fade. He gave the ultimate sacrifice and they are heros in everyone's eyes.

We heard about this shortly after it happened and this kind of thing goes with me everyday I get into that cruiser. I know Sgt. Russell and all that have gone before him are watching over the rest of us everyday. God speed.........

I am outraged by this news. Why anyone would choose a career in law
enforcement is beyond me. Another sad and tragic day for mankind.
Your death diminshes us all. Thank you for your many selfless years of
service and ultimate sacrifice. It is a long road to healing that lies
ahead, but I know that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will extend His
mercy and comfort to all who reach out to Him. There is none greater
than He. We don't get to Heaven based on what we do, but what He did
for us!! AMEN! There is now a huge void that cannot be filled. God be
with all those who mourn and may His promises lift all those with heavy
hearts for many years to come.

I remember Sargeant always had a good word to say- I didnt get to spend much time around him but the little I did, he was always kind and I admired his quiet humble spirit. I did know that he was a family man and his family greatly morns his death along with our department. We never really understand why God allows situations to happen the way that they do, but God is still in control. The memories of Tony and Larry as fellow Officers and Heroes will never be forgotten......
