Reflections for Trooper Nikky Joe Green

I was just telling a story about you during a call we ran once together that had me laughing and missing you pretty good. I think of you often still. I pray your family is doing well and remembers you with the fondest of memories. Godspeed, my friend!

Today we would be going to eat to celebrate. You would make fun of me for getting old and I would make fun of you for being older…we were robbed of that opportunity, however, justice is around the corner for your killer…I feel it.

So tonight I will toast to you as I quietly raise a crown and coke..I push hard everyday in your memory brother…I love and miss you…but am carrying on.
Distance will never break our bond.
See you on the other side.
Love you Forever…Karen Green

Nik, another year has passed since you left this world to be with your Lord and Savior. I know you are glorified in the after life with family, friends, and your fellow officers that preceded you. Unfortunately, Malone is still appealing for his pathetic life, feeling no remorse for the pain and hurt his has caused everyone who knew and loved you. Hopefully the US Court of Appeals will agree with his sentencing and do to him what should have been done years ago. Missing you Brother. Rest easy and continue to watch over Linda, your daughters, your family, and your brother in blue.

Nik, another year has gone by, and it's no easier getting over the hole left in the hearts of your family and friends and Law Enforcement, caused by the senseless actions of Malone, who lost another appeal this past August.
Still missing you Brother. Keep your vigil over all your brothers in blue. Praying for you, your family, and friends while knowing that our Lord and Savior continues to wrap all of you in His loving arms and gives us peace.

Trooper Nik Green was one of my best ever young Troopers. He would have gone far in OHP. I will always feel guilt, serious guilt, over his death. Though I don't know how, I wish I'd done better with his training. He was my young Trooper…my responsibility. I remain crushed over his death,

I met this man twice and he made a huge impact on my life, and I was only three when I met him, so that does say something. The people who do these things should automatically be sentenced to death.

It should be remembered that Trooper Green begged for his life several minutes before Rick Malone shot him twice in the head. One can still listen to Green begging for his life. I have heard that Malone and his attorneys' claim that Malone was mentally ill at the time of the killing. Listen to the recording and one will hear Rick Malone torment and execute Trooper Green. Malone was not and still not mentally ill, his own words prove that.

It's been a long time since you were taken from all of us, some of the days have been hard and some not so bad, either way I miss you and your guidance. I personally want to Thank You for your years of Service over me as one of my Guardian Angels, it's truly appreciated. I also want to tell you how much I appreciate you looking over Gary as well. The day I got the call about him getting hit, all the memories of the day we lost you came back, I'm really not sure how I was going to handle losing both of you. Thank you again for moving him just enough so that he didn't take the full impact and was able to survive. Please be with him everyday during his recovery!! I love you Nik.

Nikky, you my friend are not, will not, be forgotten. You still epitomize all that is good in law enforcement, and your untimely loss has left a hole in the ranks that remains today. Rest in peace Brother. Prayers for your wife, daughters, family, and friends.

It's another new year and we still think about you. Shows what a great man you were! You showed what a real man should be. What a great example.

As a youth Nikki couldn't say slick or preacher. They called the Pastor of our church Preacher. Leaving church one cold winter Sunday morning when Nikki was about 3, Nikki told the Pastor, "Shrick outside Creature".

I see his huge brown eye every time I think of this.
