I just wanted to say I am very sorry to the family of this fallen officer. I know there are no words I could tell you right now that could take away the pain you feel inside your heart. But I can tell you that as I read what happened to your husband, I cried and prayed for you because I remember almost six years ago when I got the dreadful news that my husband had been killed in the line of duty. I felt as if I couldn't even breathe. I am so sorry that another family has to go through all of this. My heart aches for you, and especially the fact that you have an unborn child. At least you will always have a part of him with you. Just know you are not alone and you have a support system out here that you don't even know yet. I will be praying for you and I will light a blue candle for your husband along with my husband's candle this holiday season. God bless your family.

It is so sad for Trooper Patrick and the grief this has caused his family. Thank you for the truck driver that stopped, because if he hadn't that crazed madman may still be out there threatening the safety of everybody. I am a former officer and former trucker and I can tell you that I have the upmost respect for the troopers who put their lives in danger every day and night. Such senseless violence. I will pray for his wife and unborn child. So very sad.

A Brother Warrior has fell and died today in battle.

This Brother Warrior has made the ultimate sacrifice.

He has given his life for his Fellow Warriors, his family and friends too.

Brother Warrior, pass your sword to us, so we can keep your spirit alive.

You, my Brother Warrior will not be forgotten.

God Bless you, your family and your friends.

We honor and respect all of the Fallen Warriors who have gone before us.

We ask you, Brother Warriors to guide us, protect us and pray for us.

We will meet again my Brother Warriors.

For this time not to fight another battle, but to live in eternal peace.

At this point, especially after the deaths of Mishawaka officers last week, I am struggling to understand why evil and those weak in character have once again prevailed. I am well aware that is exactly how evil works upon a person's mind. My prayers are not only with Trooper Patrick's family and co-workers but with all united in a common cause to stay strong and commited in your belief as well as staying safe in the daily commission of your duties. May God Bless you ALL
