Reflections for Trooper Scott Alan Patrick

Although I had the opportunity to be a part of the Indiana State Police I did not stay, but to all of those who did I honor the 63rd class.

I did not know Trooper Patrick, but as many troopers, police officers, and emergency personnel felt a sad, hopeless feeling to hear one of our own had fallen makes us all come together. My prayers have been with your family since the time of paying the ultimate sacrifice, but I honor not only your ultimate sacrifice, but the others before you as well.

I give my prayers and thoughts to the 63rd as well, be safe, and see you down the road.

trooper patrick, i didnt know you personally, but i have heard several great stories from your classmates that i work with everyday. it would have been an honor to know you and work with you. congrats on the birth of your son. i was there for your funeral, probably one of the hardest things in my life i have attended. that is my worst fear of being a dispatcher is to hear of one of my officers getting injured. god bless your family and keep watching over us. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Congratulations, Melissa Patrick, on the birth of your son, Isaac Scott.
Although your joy may be bittersweet as you continue to mourn your loss,
May your son be healthy and grow up to always know the person his father was.

Trooper Patrick, you will not be forgotten, nor the ultimate sacrifice you gave.
Your family and fellow troopers continue to be in the thoughts and prayers of many.

I often visit this website after the death of two dear friends from the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Trooper Patrick. I am deeply saddened to see the death of another very young man. From the reflections written about Trooper Patrick, it is obvious that he was a wonderful man and trooper.

These are senseless occurances that continue to happen. Thank you so much to the men and women who continue to serve their communities and this great Nation. God Bless You.

Scott,
It has been almost 3 months since that day, I cannot help thinking about you and the fun we had each day and night while 10-41 and off duty as well. We all miss you bro.

ANOTHER TROOPER FELL TODAY

Another trooper fell today
Not fighting in Iraq but
Fighting in a war that has been going on much longer

Another soldier fell today
CNN will not cover the story
This soldier just as important if not more important
fighting in a war much closer to home

Another trooper fell today
How many people will know
A true hero died trying to protect our own

Another trooper fell today
A true hero in my eyes
Not fighting in a foriegn land but here at home
It was not the enemy that was fighting to protect their country
But an enemy trying to take something that did not belong to them

Another trooper fell today
May God Bless him, his family, and friends
These are true heros who do not fight for fame and fortune
But fight to protect the citizens of our land
From an enemy that looks just like us

Another trooper fell today
How long must we fight this loosing war
A war against crime on our own streets
Against an enemy that keeps coming back

Another trooper fell today.....

Scott,

You don't know me. I am an 2 1/2 year officer with the Sellersburg Police Department in southern Indiana. I just wanted to tell you that you reminded me that no call is routine or "no big deal". I read the article about your incident on the interstate the next day after it happened. The thing that got to me the most about the entire article was the picture of your patrol car with detectives around it taking pictures. I realized that car could easily be my patrol car or one of my brothers cars. Rest easy Scott.

My first shift on my own happened to be a midnight shift with you. From the first time I met you I felt as though I had made a life long friend. It was conforting to know that no matter what I got into you always had my back. I'll never forget the many early mornings sitting at Martha and the Blvd. just talking for hours, it almost feels like I have known you so much longer than just the 5 short months that we worked together. Scott I feel confident that you are up there watching each and every one of our backs everyday, never resting to insure that we all stay safe. I have learned so much from you. I hope I turn out to be half the Trooper that you were. Keep that smile on your face Troop, we'll all see you some day. You will be missed by all.

God Bless Troop, may you Rest In Peace brother.

It has been over a month now and it still does not seem possible. I will never forget our days in recruit school and will cherish them now more than ever. You have paid the ultimate price and for that you will never be forgotten. I also pray for your family, for they have suffered the greatest loss of all. Scott please watch over us all.

TROOP-
It's been over a month now and the pain is still there from the loss of my friend. We all still miss you and would give anything to see that smile on your face again. I can honestly say that it was an honor to work with you. The times we had working together and joking around at 61st and I65 will stay in my heart forever. You were a great person and I can only hope to live up to the standards you have set. Don't worry about Zone 1, we got it covered. Rest now, my friend, and smile down on us.
