Reflections for Trooper Tony Michael Lumley

Someday when I get mine
I hope like you I'll wear it fine

It's that smokey on your head!!
Something criminals have come to dread

For there is no sweeter sight
than to see a blue and gray in flight!!

"Georgias Finest" is what God said he needs
#799 has done well on his deeds

We will stay here and continue the fight
We just ask you keep us safely in your sights!!

May God watch over your family in this time of grief

Trooper Lumley selfishly gave the ultimate sacrifice so the violator we pursued would not hurt any innocent civilians. This violator would have certainly killed someone with the way he was driving. I know because I was #2 in this pursuit when Trooper Lumley asked to come by. I would like his family and friends to know, your loss is also felt by our Agency and our Officers. The job we do is one that has to be done, but there are few people willing to take that daily risk. Trooper Lumley was one of those who did...You will not be forgotten.

My deepest reguards to Trooper Lumley's family and loved ones. The Bible states, "Blessed is he who upholds the laws of the land." No one is more riteous than those who lay their lives on the line for the protection of society, and often times that comes with a price. May God be with his soul and those whom are left behind.

Please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in. Thank you Trooper Lumley for a job well done. Please continue to watch over us and protect us as only you can. You will forever be at our side and in our hearts.

For those of you who still have loved ones with us please take the time to tell them how much you appreciate and care about them.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

To Trooper Lumley's wife, daughters and family:

I am truly sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I pray for God to give you strength in these first days and comfort in the months to come.

I understand the sadness and loss you are feeling; my father was struck and killed by a vehicle just over one year ago. It was my father's police department and his friends that got my mom, my sister and I through those first days and weeks. And, it was the memories of my dad that carried us through to where we are now one year later. I pray that the memories that you've made with him give you great comfort and that you always remember his love for you and his girls.

Again, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Anytime is a sad time to lose a loved one, but as the holidays near, it
seems to be the worst. I am sickened that you had to lose your
sweetheart and the girls their Dad and his parents their son... and it goes
on and on. My heart is heavy with your pain and sadness. May God
comfort all those who are grieving your passing. Life is difficult at times
and the Lord Jesus wants to help carry our burdens. He gives us many
beautiful promises in His Word to help us through our valleys. I pray you
will feel His presence and know His peace. Thank you for your service,
dedication and mostly, your sacrifice, Trooper Lumley. We ache from
missing you.
