My prayers go out to the family of this true American Hero. It is such a tragedy when something like this happens and I wishe there were something I could say or do take away you hurt. Though I love my job, reading things like this puts the whole thing into perspective. Again I am so sorry for your loss and I will remember you in my prayers tonight.

To Deputy Yancey you made the ultimate sacrifice and for that you have earned a place next to the Lord watching over the rest of us who do the job everyday. I personally feel a lot safer knowing men and women like yourself, are assisting the Lord in watching over us every day. Rest in peace brother!!

Family, friends and fellow officers of Deputy Yancey - Your hearts are surely heavy, but know that tremendous love and support are all around you. Your burden seems crushing, but God will see to it that it is not too much for you to bear. Your cries of despair will be tempered, in time, by knowing just how much your loved one made a difference, and learning about all of the many lives he helped.

Brave Deputy Yancey did not die in vain, for no one who seeks to protect others will ever be forgotten.

Trust in the Lord at this time, for he is your Rock.
